Farcry 2 issues, please help.

hi, specs below. running the latest 178.24 drivers for 7 series. farcry 2 is vesion 1.01

i am having problems playing farcry 2, and only farcry 2. COD's are fine it's just FC2.

- firstly in dark areas i get lots of little white dots ( a pixel in size) all over the screen dancing around.

- secondly i am getting masses of bluescreens, can't play for >30mins without one. they are all nv4_disp.dll

this may or may not be of interest but when i removed the old drivers using driversweeper or something, i got bluescreens and couldn't boot xp without going into safemode, then it was ok once i'd installed new ones (never had this before).

any help appreciated

download 180 beta drivers
go on nvidia driver page and scrolll down to find BETA drivers
on the next page it will hav a 180 BETA driver
that should fix your problem

180's are not for the 7 series.

EDIT: Just realised you could try the latest 180.44's from the link in here :-

Also download the modded .inf (will be along the top in green) as well, then instead of installing the drivers as you do, right-click the icon and do an extract instead to unpack all the files without installing, then just copy the downloaded modded .inf across (saying yes to replace the one already there), and then just run the setup.exe to install the drivers.

go on nvidia driver page and scrolll down to find BETA drivers
on the next page it will hav a 180 BETA driver

Yes if you use the modded .inf, on that first link in my thread, you select which OS set you require, then on the next page where you download the drivers, you'll see the modded.inf as well.
