Hi, I'm putting together a system on the cheap and was looking at some of the B- Grade motherboards Ocuk has to offer. Now i know that they have to be fully working when shipped but can arrive without some accessories/cables etc but what exactly would it be possible for a motherboard to be missing in terms of cables and etc?

cheers :)

The B Grade section seems to be a bit of a lucky dip to be honest. I would just assume that the only thing to arrive would be the board itself and if anything else came with it then that would be a bonus. As far as what could be missing it's hard to know and really depends on what board you're looking at although your best bet would be to look at the manufacturer's website and see what is supposed to ship with the board. In most cases you could just expect the loss of cables, add on sound card, drivers disc etc.

Worst case scenario - it's just the motherboard in antistatic packaging (ie not even a box!)
Best case scenario - everything (box, cables, manuals, CDs etc) as new

i have p35 b grade deluxe there is nothing with it well mine came just with the battery that's it would never buy it again

B-grade is probably aimed at people who have a shedload of odd bits lying around and are willing to mod to fit.

If you don't have spares or know how to get hold of the bits then its too much of a gamble I wouldn't risk it personally.

You might hit the jackpot and hit a b-grade thats just a DSR return that they cant sell as new though.

I got a DFI LAN Party DK P35 T2RS - came boxed with everything which i thought was great!

Until I put the board in and it didn't actually work...

My motherboard didn't even come in the right box. It was literally just the motherboard, nothing else. But it was also £82, which for an X38 board at the time was a great price.

Worst case scenario = no I/O shield. Got to be the worst thing to miss out.

I don't understand the obsession with I/O shields ....

I've fitted a few but most of the time I don't bother and just leave it in the box for when/if I sell the board on.

I've been doing this for nearly 20 years! ... haven't seen any ill effects as yet.

What am I missing?

PS ... one b-grade was a bare board in a box ... no SLI bridge or anything. The othercame with a whole load of stuff that didn't fit the board !!!
