Hi,
How do you go about checking the temp of your case and the components inside it, such as the processor and the mo'fo board? :D

Also is there a certain way that ypu must fit extra cooling fans? can putting it in the wrong place actually ruin the airflow and stuff?

Ta much!
Pete

Speedfan will show the core and motherboard temps, though coretemp or realtemp are more reliable for the processor temps.

Knowing what case you have may help people advise where to put the fans if you need extras.

As above.

The general idea of good airflow is that you have a constant stream of fresh air into the system from the front and the hotter air is extracted at the top rear.

Placing other fans, like on the side cover etc, maybe detrimental to this effect.

So if I add one to the front then its should help cool the system a bit? It says it has "1 front mount for optional 80mm fan".

Why do they have side mountings for fans if this can have a negative impact on temperature?

If I could hi-jack this topic for a moment, as it seems pertinent - which way do my case fans blow?

I know that it's generally to do with the sticker in the middle of the fan, but I cant remember whether the sticker points in the direction that the fan is blowing TO or From. Can anyone help? :)

There's sometimes an arrow on one edge pointing in the direction of air flow.

Failing that, couldn't you just work it out? Just by looking at the fins and thinking about how they "scoop" the air it's pretty obvious which way the airflow goes.

Sorry to hijack, but my qwery is along the same line as the op's. Ive ordered 3 x sharkoon se 2000 fans for my akasa eclipse, 2x intake, 1 in a scythe kama bay 1 in the bottom front to cool the hdd's and 1 exhaust. I currently use 2 of the same fans on my cpu cooler. Does this sound ok as far as airflow goes. Also would removing the dust filters from the case and kama bay help to increase airflow, i regularly clean the case with compressed air so dust build up shouldnt be an issue. Tia

Because fashion and sense don't have anything common.

Toward that sticker side/side of motor hub's supports.
Exception is heavily vibrating bling bong of Arctic Cooling.

Sure it works, pressure won't be building up inside case and intake fans can draw in only as much air as can go out.
(so no sense in getting dust in)
