Anyone else getting crappy FPS from there 8800 based cards after the expansion hit?
Yes mate, terrible stuttering. FPS itself isn't so bad but it just jumps about a lot. I've been running it in openGL mode, it doesn't look as nice but it seems to have remedied the problem a little.
Runs great on my 4870 running at 1920x1200 with 8xAA, 16xAF in windowed mode and i still average 45 fps.
I've been a fairly hardcore player since release, but now that I have a girlfriend my playing time has been somewhat curtailed, leaving me distinctly in the 'casual' bracket. I just picked up the expansion last night and pottered around for a while on my frost Mage. However, I have several other classes that I could gradually level to 80 and I'm vaguely thinking of going with the Priest. Can you other levellers tell me what the demand is for tanks and healers at the moment? The Mage has always been first choice 5 man dps class (maybe not so much in the expansion) but you can't go anywhere without a tank and healer.
I also have a Warrior which I thought I might make my new main, but at the moment I'm not really feeling the lure of the class.
Is DK a new race? I havent really looked into this and im not a big WoW player. Ive played for 30 days and enjoyed it. I just wish the 30 days worked as though you have 30 physical days to play it. So if you go on holiday for 10 days your account doesnt run out.
If you get what i mean? So everytime you play it deducts the time played on the session from the 30 days.
Because thats what i found difficult. I have a good social life but loved the game... ashame really.
Level as holy, and your never ever have a problem getting into a instance. Healers and tanks are wanted a lot. Most of tehm have gone to DPS specs.
I'm leveling as prot, and get about 10 whispers a hour to tank.
To be fair, a prot Warrior can round up 6-8 melee mobs, aoe them all down and continue without downtime or possibility of dying. A Holy Priest can smite mobs to death one at a time and have to drink fairly regularly, so I'd be levelling as Shadow - you can still heal well enough for 5 man content. I tend to enjoy my solo time as well and Shadow Priests are rock hard for solo PvE
I'll have a quick shufty this lunch time on my Priest and see if I start getting 'the urge'.
