Tomb Raider : Underworld Demo

Nude patch ¬_¬

Edit* Yeah Loadsa, I get the exact same thing. It's Only in certain areas though, the moment you aim the camera in that area the FPS drops to 15~ but as soon as you move it away from that area it's back up to 80 odd.

Yeah its well odd that, only started before i got to that humongous squid, man hes a big ******. :D

The combat system on this sucks. I honestly havent played any of the other games since the first tomb raider but they could have thought of a better shooting system.

Any news on that nude skin? lol

Gotta say I do like this game now. Having played the other TR games I have missed this kind of 3d platformer since TR1 and 2 from the old skool days.

I'm playing it with a wireless 360 pad and it's great. The controls for combat are as lame as ass (doesn't feel like DEAD SPACE for example) but this is a TR game, puzzle solving and jumping and exploring! not shooting :p

The issue at 1920x1200 where sometimes I'd encounter an area of a level that would drop to 15fps (or less) from 80 odd was running max at 4xFSAA 16xAF so I upped the FSAA to 8x and dropped AF to 8x and BLAMMO! It's pretty much constantly above 60 now with no fps drops in those same areas which is great.

Think ill try mine at 8xAF as well in game, as i was only running at 16xAF through the drivers, as in the game i had it set to Trilinear, so ill change it and see how we get on.

Was originally running 2xAA (set in game) 16xAF (set in drivers), everything on (Volumteric lights etc...) and Textures on high with the filtering set to Trilinear, all at my res of 1280x1024.

It reminds me of that memory bug on the old 320mb GTS, where the memory fills up and doesn't clear, so you had to keep ALT+Tabbing out and back in to clear it once it filled up and your game began to crawl.

Well it's certainly not a memory issue because at 8xAF I'm seeing better performance at 1920x1200 on a 512MB card :p

I started again (as i missed a load of artifacts at the start so ive discovered lol) with my new settings and it still dropped in the same places, so it can't be that, i did notice however, that if you go into the settings menu and drop the textures to medium, then put them back to high, the stutter disappears, as i was testing while spinning the camera around Lara, when it got to a certain point the frame-rate plummeted, then when it moved away from that point it shot back up again, so i dropped the textures to medium, put them back up to high again, then started spinning the camera around her again, and this time it was perfect, so god knows.

Enjoying it too. Not liking the camera much though. Even when your just running or jumping around it moves about erratically. Its actually making me feel a bit dizzy and I've never experienced that before in any game.
