Can you still handle your drink?

The most I have ever drank in a night is about 12 pints but that is a one off and was after a very large chinese meal. Normally I start to feel tipsy after a 2-3 pints. I rarely drink and intend to keep it that way.

I used to be able to (in my teens and twenties) go out get hammered sleep for a few hours get up go to work and reapeat the feat again.

Now one night a week is my usual and then its only maybe 6-7 bottles and maybe a couple of nips and thats it, and in the morning I feel knackered!

Im 39 btw.

All this drinking reminds me of booze britian. I was watching the other night, and these bunch of young chaps were on the razz, one chap drank someone elses puke out of a pint glass gobbling it down, spewed it up in the glass, then drank it again, then later got peed on by his mate whilst drinking his mates wee, ugh!!

As for the alchohol tolerance, i normally have about 5 pints, then an indian balti with another pint or 2. Not done that for about 4 months though. I once went on a 4 week spree of drinking a 24 pack a week. Those were the days of watching loads of dvd's though. I've run out of films to watch, so now only have about 4 cans 2 times a week.

I could never handle my drink, which is why i don't do it anymore. After a certain threshold i find it impossible to "care" about stopping, and this would usually result in vomit. Lots of it.

Gave up drinking about 6 years ago (I do have the occasional drink on special occasions, but I don't go out on the sauce or have booze in the fridge at home).

So i'd be highly suprised if my tollerance is the same as it was when I was constantly at parties etc in my teens/early twenties.

Well, I'm 34 now and I cannot drink anywhere near as much as I used to in my 20s. In all honesty, I'm pleased I can't! I drank far too much and made a proper mess of myself. I'm a much more mellow drinker now, I've even been known to have a coke or two in the middle of the evening to chill out a bit. After all, I'm out to socialise with my friends, not throw up in the street and spend the next day with a horrible hangover and a feeling of dread! :D

when i was 18 i could drink 7 or 8 tripple JD +coke (no idea were i got the money) now i can manage 5-6 bottles before i just get tired and want to go to bed.

used to go out every weeked at 18 though, now its once a month or so.

Ive never understood the "joy" of having 10 pints in one evening, seems pretty pointless to me, costs loads and after that amount you will just feel crap

I could always handle the stuff, last man standing and all that. Age and common sense have prevailed and since I’ve stopped, I think that my tolerance level is zilch. :)

I've never been a beer drinker. 5 Pints is about my limit before I feel bloated and quite sick. Usually start off with a couple of pints then move onto spirits. I can drink JD and Coke with very little effect. This has been the case since my drinking career started around 16 years ago.

My mood also has a lot to do with how much I can handle, strange as it may seem.

Agreed 100%. Admittedly as a younger person I used to go a bit mad, and on holiday sometimes I will "let myself go"... but day-to-day and during the week I seldom drink.

As I've got older I really have noticed that I can drink less and less. As most teens and students I went OTT a few times and never really felt too bad for it but now it cripples me. On Friday after shooting with some mates I had a couple drinks and a shot, I didn't feel too drunk at all but in the morning my head felt like it was trying to crack itself open from the inside.

I prefer to have a can or two or a nice glass of whisky while relaxing.

Definitely turning into a lightweight. Had a reasonably heavy Saturday night for the missus birthday, while I drank as much as I would have done the hangover was a killer on Sunday.

Since I finished Uni my drinking powers have been in steady decline, I think it's purely a practice thing. In my last year at Uni I was drinking pretty much every day and drinking heavily three to 4 times a week (It was amazing fun at the time and I don't think will ever be eclipsed as he best year of my life!) now I only drink on the weekends and it's much more likely to be a few glasses of good red in front of the TV than a binge of alcho pops beer and spirits! I still go out every now and then with the old uni crowd but anything more than about 5 pints and I'm drunk! On the plus side I've lost loads of weight (About 1.5 Stone) and I feel much healthier than at any time in my life.

Ever since I decided to drink only on occasions I've become a super light weight. 1 pint and I feel pretty tipsy :p
