It has 2 extra SATA ports, but more importantly DFI made new revisions to the "plus version" which has resulted in better performance, particularly when overclocking.

Reading that thread, and a reply from the distributor, it seems the difference is two extra SATA ports + removal of double boot issue (an Intel feature of all P35/P45 chipsets AFAIK).
Chipset revision / improved overclocking seems to be speculation.
