hi all,
just completed my first build, got it up and running and ive decided that my case is too small, im looking at two lian li cases the v1010a and the v2010a.

future plans include another 4870, corsair 1000w, blu ray drive and possibly some more hd's AND watercooling which id like to keep all inside the one case.

just looking for some advice to which one to get and others opinions on them?

thanks

jas

Hi, welcome to the forums.:)

If you can afford the v2010 and have the space to spare, then I can't see any reason why you shouldn't go for it.

If you can't afford it, buy a much cheaper PSU to save money, and spend the money saved on the v2010. You don't need anywhere near 1kW.

thanks, sig edited my bad.
well the PSU upgrade is only when i get the second 4870 got plenty of power now:)

im gonna try and find somewhere that stocks both locally just to compare the both for size

The bigger the better?

Another full tower option is "cheapish" (compared to V2010) A70...
You can't use all 5.25" bays of V-models without seriously hampering intake of motherboard chamber so nominally higher 7 bay capacity of V2010 isn't fully accessible.
(also there's only one exhaust fan without getting either BS-03 or BS-06 PCI cooling kit... haven't finished/assembled build but BS-03 exhaust's air well from area of graphic cards)

And plenty for that.
With two cards peak load would be about 350W!

the a70 seemed to be kinda thin panels etc. Go with what you think looks nicest not really bigger is better as it will be pretty bare with just air cooling.

I bought the V1010 to replace a Lanboy case which I had had to saw a lump out of to get my 280GTX in :)

All I can say is amazing quality and oceans of room.

Agreed, if you can afford it. I didn't think I'd ever spend over £100 on a case, but I ended up spending double that. :D

But the good thing about the initial outlay is that you'll never have to buy another case again. Lian Li V-series cases are investments. ;)

Here's some reviews of V2x10:

Not any thinner than most cases, "standard" 1mm thickness. (though haven't checked with micrometer) Aluminum alloy is just so much lighter than steel so that helps in cheating senses.

I have A71 and originally thought I would have to somehow mod attachment system in top edge of sides because of loose rattling when knocking case but that disappeared completely after lining case with BeQuiet's damping mat.
