Oh no, what have I just ordered!!

I've asked Santa for an Exhaust for my 5th Gen Prelude, was going to investigate the powerflow route as you can customise right? Anyone used a powerflow exhaust, how do they fair?

Very variable. Powerflow make exhausts up to fit the car rather than using of the shelf systems. The quality of the exhaust you get depends on the skill of the person constructing and fitting it, and varies hugely from a twisted pile of scrap to something quite presentable.

Nice-ish system, totally pointless on an N/A engine. You would realistically want a max of 2"'s on a system for your car. The tail pipe is just style, if you like it cool.

My exhaust happens to be 4.5"'s because that's jap style and guess what.. I'm into jap cars.. so big deal.

Fox> Seriously, you come across as really arrogant sometimes, what's the deal? Are you trying to be all 'London' because your from Plymouth and not appear to be a backwater wash out?

I see what your saying about the hole style/exhaust thing but you'll get just as many jibes coming your way for driving a BMW.

OP> The system shouldn't be 'too' loud, but if it is, try and get a decat silencer or a 2nd silencer put in. Realistically your gonna lose performance with that exhaust though due to a total lack of back pressure.

Damn, rumbled.

Of course, because the car I drive is totally related to fitting a huge Jap can to a Prelude.

Then if it isn't why are you so scathing. Just about every 200SX I know of in the sx club has a large exhaust system, yet aren't boy racing wannabe's, so why do you have such a beef with this?

Obviously not. So don't bitch about it.

I'm surprised you've moved on from wire wheels ;) :p

At least now it'll look like all the other barry'd up Hondas.
So your's just looks like every other non-inspirational BMW. Although, after seeing some chrome/black alloys on a local BMW, I ironically do prefer the standard look LMAO. Damn those nice design touches!!! ;)

EDIT: Actually.. think I'm reading into nothing. Apologies FOX... yah toff :p

Perhaps. But then i guess all you drive is a standard car?

I assume the OP got it due to the price rather than being able to source an exhaust that doesn't look "retarded". Having a huge exhaust on a 1.2 looks retarded, having an exhaust on a car that 'may' be able to make use of it is not. (although having it on a prelude is pointless due to the N/A engine I admit).

No he doesnt. he really wants either 2.25 to 2.5 for that car. some of the 1.8 VTECs are about 2 as standard and will see a power increase from a 2.25 system.

But that is manifold included not just the centre section.

2.25" as much as that eh? Must have improved flow since my ol' mini days then lol

Guess that I was retarded :P :

I was on the bus (big-ends gone :*() last night with my wife, and I looked across at a BMW in the Castle garage, and commented how you could get quite a nice BMW for the money nowadays. The look of disgust on her face was priceless lol. I'd still like a nice slick and low one some day, but that won't be till we are in the states and they seem to be more pricey out there :(

Luckily, they will be mated to these!

:D

I was gunna say, most of the systems i could find were 2.25/2.5 for the prelude?

I have no idea what that style of bung is like, but the bung I had for mine severely reduced the drowning noise on the motorway, and appeased the neighbours. Unfortunately it did restrict the car a bit, but bear in mind it's was a 2L engine running at 1 bar.

You can get say.. an apexi dynamic (spring based) bung that opens up the more pressure there is alleviating this problem, or say the EVC which is just a butterfly in the exhaust that quietens things down for when you don't want the throaty exhaust.

bosokai? (is that the right spelling?)

Honestly, I'd have to look it up. Certainly not my style, and I don't like big cans on a car either, but you buy what you can afford at the time normally. In my case... my standard exhaust broke, and I wasn't about to pay Nissan for the pleasure or raping me for a standard exhaust that cost more than a 'uprated' one. (plus Nissan's would be mild steel and fall to bits quicker).
