Which Samsung monitor - 24" or 22"

Hi, looking for some advice about which monitor I should get for my new PC?

At the mo I am torn between 22" and 24" (Samsung SM2253BW 22" 2MS Wide LCD and the Samsung SM2443BW equivalent)

I should be able to run both at native res but am worried the 24" may be too big (and it costs more!) and wonder if the 22" is all I'll need - and I will be able to max out all the settings.

On the other hand if I only get the 22" maybe I won't get the most from my system and I may regret it!

FYI it will be driven by a Quad Core 9550 overclocked to 3.4Ghz and a AMD 4870x2.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Currently I dual screen with a 26" HDTV @ 1080i and a 19" BenQ FP937s and I have no problems playing Dead Space (max) or even Crysis (almost max) on my ancient AMD FX60 and 9600GT, with your specs you shouldn't have any problems whatsoever so don't worry about the screen size.

I'm also torn between the two you listed but I would be dual screen the 22", but for what I do I need a 1920*1200 res so I'll most likely go for the 2443. I'm trying to find any sort of review on the net but without much luck at the mo. I'll probably order it anyway as my eyes are getting blurred to death at 1080i.

I found the 2443 for £220 inc VAT + P&P so I'm just waiting for it to come now, reason I haven't gone with the T240 was because I wasn't too keen on it. I checked it over in PC World in Bristol and it wouldn't fit my room, the stand isn't adjustable, and it was red with an oval bottom bevel. The 2443 on the other hand seemed to have come out at the right time for me.

This is my question too. I aim to buy a very good quality monitor, probably a Samsung but am undecided between the 22 or 24" model. I run a dual set up and so this is to replace a pair of Mitsubishi 19" crt monitors.
In comparison is there much difference in the sharpness between the 2 sizes.

What about dead pixels? I have just returned an HP laptop that had a dead pixel out of the box.
Are they now largely a thing of the past?

I'm on 22" right now and personally wouldnt go bigger than 24" for a PC monitor.

Game performance would suffer at highest res, unless you bought the best graphics card every time released. Even then not every game will run smooth mind at such high resolution.

Well my 2443BW will be posted to me on Monday so it's just a matter of waiting for it to come through the post. I'll do a review of the product for everyone who's interested in it.

Has anyone had their Samsung 2443BW delivered yet? It was originally listed as available from the 3rd of November on ******, but it's now the 17th and still no where has it in stock.

is there big differences between 22 and 24.....?

I will choose 22 if there is big price different!

Um, 2 inches difference. :) But the resolutions tend to be different. I chose 24" for the extra vertical resolution (1200 pixels), because I use several graphic applications with lots of panels and bars taking up all the screen space. If you're just watching movies and playing games, 22" should be fine.

I have one, I have no problems with it. It has no buttons on the front panel, instead it has the sensor type buttons very nice in deedy. I cant fault it even the stand is fully adjustable.

Great to know the monitor does actually exist! You must be one of the first in the country to get one! Where did you get it from? How's the picture quality in games and movies?

Try here >>m 2443bw.
I quite like it, we all know its a TN panel and does what TN panels do. But i quite like it to be honest.

I have not watched any movies on it I only play games on it and surf the net it seems to get the job done colours are nice so im happy.

Well, it's arrived and all I can say is - I love it!! The picture quality is excellent, for games (no blurriness), movies and the extra screen space for graphic design is fantastic. The stand is perfect, allowing you to tilt it back, forward and alter the height. The touch sensitive buttons take a little practice, but I think it's quite cool turning on your monitor by "stroking" it.

It needs a little calibration at first, as it's far too bright in default settings. But the Natural Colour Pro software makes that a breeze. 2 minute job at the most.

I'm undecided whether to go for the 24" or the 26". I was thinking of the T260HD. Is there any benefit in going for the 26" over the 24"?

How are you all finding this monitor now after a couple of months?

I am torn between 1x 24" or 2x 20" - As I am also concerned that as my PC gets outdated I will struggled to run new games at the latest res.

20" is a fine size for me I think, and having 2 of them will mean I still get plenty of desktop space.
