£1600 for a 98 Punto S, help pelase..

when i first started quinn and admiral group were by far the cheapest. 2 very low risk anmed drivers really lower it with admiral. Elephant were the cheapest at the time for me by about a 10 quid.

I was with ecar last year and had no problems, website is good if you are thinking of changing cars as i changed twice during my policy and it cost me nothing!

Eech. That's bad mate :(

Not sure what to reccomend. I'm still getting quotes of just under 1k for pretty much all "first car" type things for when I've passed (hopefully december!), and I'm 2 years younger than you...

Try the Admiral group, people like Bell.co.uk and the like, they don't quote me too well as a 17 year old but if the age is 18+ I get fantastic quotes.

Tried the money supermarket one yet? I always end up with cheaper quotes than confused on there. I think you'll still be looking at a good chunk over a grand though, my sister can't get quotes below £800 on my dads W reg punto, she's 21 and has been driving 3 years!

Definitely try adding someone like your mum to the policy - reduced mine by a few hundred.

This is true, but depends on the individuals i guess. Admiral dropped £850 off my quote for an S2000 by adding my mother! I am 24 though so that helps a little bit.

Try Liverpool Victoria and Quinn, they've been fairly cheap. Moneysupermarket.com is definitely worth a try though, I got far cheaper quotes through that than I did on Confused.

I'm looking at £1,745 fully comp on a 2002 Astra SXi 1.6, and I'm 21. Painful stuff.

£1,600 isn't that bad considering you've only just passed.

I didnt think so..

Ive put my mum down as second driver, lets see how this turns out..

EDIT: £2188.23 with the mother as second driver.

With Ecar though.. They are cheepest everywhere, ill probably take up the £1600 quote with them to be honest..

Wow you love spamming new threads today! :p

Have you tried moneysupermarket? Normally quite good, also try Direct Line, Bell, Norwich Union, Endsleigh (good for students normally), Admiral, Hastings.

There are plenty more out there as well. :)

Must live in bad areas insurance wise then. I'm constantly quoted under 1k for fiestas, corsas (not a chance :P), the mini, puntos, etc....
