Hey there. I've unfortunately missed out on the best part of gaming this year, and am definately looking to have a fair bit of time over the Christmas period purely for gaming.

Haven't played hardly any games released this year on the PC, so what would you guys recommend me?

1: Gta IV
2: Saints row 2 ( if it comes out by then).
3: Fallout 3
4: Left 4 Dead.

Optional ( not ''must'' games but enjoyable:)
CoD:WaW
FC2.

'over chirstmas'? could try this:
WOW expansion, straight through from xmas eve to boxing day... and colapse... or not!

Crysis Warhead is good (if a bit short) runs smoother than the original.
Fallout 3 if you are in for the longhaul and fancy some rpg-ish action
Left 4 dead.

Fallout 3 is the only game I've truly enjoyed this year having played left 4 dead, FC2, Crysis: Warhead. Would like to play Deadspace as that looks good. Maybe I'll get round to it but Fallout 3 is one of my top ten games of all time so far so that's my vote. :)

All depends on your personal preferences.

GTA 4 for the PC coming out early December, if you haven't already played it to death on one of the consoles.

Out Now:
Dead Space
Left 4 Dead
Fallout3
Assassins Creed
Devil May Cry4
LEGO Indiana Jones & LEGO Batman
Sega Rally
Bioshock

All Within Next 3 Weeks:
GTA-IV
Prince Of Persia 2008
Tomb Raider Underworld (this friday)
Need For Speed Undercover (this friday)

Depends what type of game you like. My favourites of this year, in this order are

Shooters:
Left4Dead
Crysis warhead

RPG:
Fallout 3
Mass Effect

Racing:
Grid
GTR2 Evolution (needs a decent wheel set such as the G25)

Games that I've had the pleasure of playing this year

Mass Effect
Grid
Crysis Warhead
Fallout 3
Left 4 Dead

I'd recommend all of the above, and also to get all of the below :p

Still want to get deadspace, COD 5, RA3, FarCry 2, Need For Speed Undercover and Footie Manager 2009. It's gonna be a busy time of year for me :D

Everybody is reccomending Left4Dead. I played through the demo and enjoyed it but the online campaign did get frustrating with far too much friendly fire and I kept getting stuck with other players trying to bundle through doorways (probably due to everyone being noobs!). Do you still have this with the full game? Or does it get better the longer you play through?
