I7-965 My Early Thoughts

i hope you removed the stock tim and used some proper stuff
Nah could not be bothered Intel have done an amazing job with the stock HSF & TIM. Its totally silent even with the case side off & the temps are a good 15-20C less than a QX6850 + Zalman 9500 with Speedstep disabled on both so will leave as is for now:D

Just Credit Card it!!!
my friends keep telling me that too but i dont like using my credit card. i much rather save up the funds myself then to use a credit card and pay it later :(

i got over £800 so far for a i7 build but i still have nearly 2 months worth to save up as i will build this baby next year jan

Totally agree with you mate. I've never had a credit card and I never will. I prefer to save up and then when you're buying it its yours and you don't have to worry about paying the debt off. I've got the same amount saved up so far too with Pay day this friday. Plus crimbo wages and money from family will take me to £1600. Still got a bit to go though - need roughly £2400. Got my Silverstone TJ07 case ready though.

so you wont buy a house until u have saved up all the cash? Also using a credit card responsibly is good to build up a credit rating which you will one day need if you want to get a mortgage.

I have one of those pay as you go credit cards. You have to pay money onto it at the post office or with a standing order at your bank before you use it. Then you can only spend that much.

It stops you spending too much on silly things like i7 release purchases!! :p

thats the ONLY debt i will ever pay mate. everything else i will save up myself mate. i have a credit card and i never use it only for emergencies. i dont want to get my paycheck and tell myself, o damm i gotta pay back £££ i spent on my i7 rig a few months ago. no sir i rather save up now and when im ready, i will buy it in full.

the less debts you are in, the better

I don't really know much about these new chips but I think you've gone for the right choise with the Gigabyte. £300 is silly, I've never spent more than £60 on a motherboard!
