b-star if you decide to get a 4870 the "Palit 1gb" (or xpertvision) version is a very good choice
and can be purchased for under 200 its quieter than any of the standard models
due to a dual fan cooler, all the reviews i have read recommend this card
im surprised ocuk does not stock this card

Yeah I bought a Palit 4870 1024MB a few weeks ago, brand new for £180 inc vat. Nice card.

well,i have ordered today 4870 Overclocked 3D CLUB, 3800mhz,800mhz,512mb...
and upgraded my PSU to 580W Hiper-it was listed in ATi Radeon website, waiting forward to get it tomorrow.
I payed £217 (4870, PSU, + vat and delivery) i think it is cheap

You may well regret buying that psu. Do a search on here for exploding.failed Hipers. It is a very poor psu with a weak 12v rail, only 360w!! It is also incapable of actually delivering it's stated 580w. I would be returning that under the DSR's for something significantly better. I certainly would'nt be trusting a Hiper with that spec.

Yeah former hiper user here and definately return it they are lousy and so unreliable i can make absolutely no excuse for buying it and regret i did took my mobo with it when it went. If nothing else go with the corsair but get rid of that hiper quick as if you want another psu option have a look at this not much more then your paying http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...PC Power & Cooling Silencer 470W Power Supply and will be a lot better then any hiper.

Well whatever you get just don't get a hiper m8 they truly are awful and can end up costing you more then the price of a new psu when they go.

Its not that its not powerfull enough its cus it will probably blow up and kill other parts of the rig. You want to spend a decent amount on a good brand PSU.

OCZ StealthXStream power supply - 600 Watt

600W power supply from Xilence, Gaming Edition. 135mm fan, active PFC.

Thermaltake TR2 W0101 - power supply - 550 Watt

will any of this be good for my system : E8500, 4GB ocz, 500hdd, 3d club 4870 o/c edition?

Although I'm sure the Hiper would be ok, they do seem to get a bit of bad press (saying that though the one I had was fine).

If you do change, go for the Corsair as we suggested before

comparing to X1950 pro, it is louder ... i have installed CATALYZE 8.11 , but still do not have direct X 10.
someone can tell where i can download it?

i have tried on COD4, everything on MAX, runs Perfect.
tried on Crysis Warhead, everything on HIGH was smoothly.
