Whats worth getting on the PC this Christmas?

Hi Guys,

Not bought a PC game for a while and just wondering whats worth getting?

After a quick look I can only really see:

Fallout 3 (unsure since Im no RPG fan)
GTA 4 (has to be bought

)
Left 4 Dead (not sure how good this is after the hype)

P.S. Im already aware that COD:WAW and Far Cry 2 are kinda generic...

Just upgraded my PC to C2D so wondering what games I can 'show-off' with

. Still got an 8800GTS 512Mb though...

Out of those, Fallout 3 (since you've already decided GTA4 is a must purchase).

Although I'd suggest Mass Effect in the RPG category.

See I have this weird stigma against RPGs since I remember the old days with a million attributes and inventory that makes John Lewis shudder...

I think the only ones Ive played are KOTOR series and a bit of Deus Ex. Ill check out Mass Effect...

Im literally only getting GTA4 because I didnt get it on the consoles as I expected it to shine (like the other ones) on the PC. Ive heard the games not the best, but Ill get it anyway (perhaps after release).

I didnt mean 'show-off' in that way - otherwise Id just dl 3dmark - want a game thats actually good and after Crysis, Crytek can shove it

P.S. My list was just what Im considering, please add if you think theres anything Ive missed - this Christmas the PC seems to have been over-looked...

KOTOR1 and Mass Effect were both made by Bioware, and you'll even get to hear Jennifer Hale use her normal accent if you choose to play a female character

Well with mass effect you get 4 weapons, each different types, you can change the ammo and weapon upgrade on all four, you can upgrade grenades and armor.

You have biotics (orwhateverit'scalled) to alter reality to through guys about and shields what not, soldier where you just have a big *** gun to pop the guys.

Also electronics, not delved into that though.

P.P.S. OMFG Bioware made Shattered Steel - that was an awesome game!

Well, Mass Effect leans more towards the latter. It isn't based around 100% free roam like Elder Scrolls.

Would highly recommend Left 4 Dead, I'm not much for online shooters usually, but this is excellent - very addictive

Lets make it into 'Bioware own' thread - just looking at their back catalogue and forget some of the stuff they have touched...

Got most of their games except for the Fantasy RPGs (Neverwinter Nights or Baldurs Gate)...

P.S. Slightly disappointed that my first post pretty much covered whats decent out there for the PC at the moment

I've got Neverwinter Nights 2 two, kotor and ME. All *insert strong sweary* GREAT!

hmm the new tomb raider will be out, Need for speed, *cough*diablo2*cough*, the witcher, civilization IV, warcraft(world), warhammer... infact any mmo you seem keen on. CoD4 5 6 7 8...
