Is there any way to permanently disable this? Seems just about every video i watch this things pops up above the video saying the following

CloseWelcome to YouTube!

Suggested Language (we have set your preference to this): English (UK)

To change your language preference, please use the links next to the YouTube logo at the top of the page.

Click "OK" to accept this setting, or click "Cancel" to view the site in English.

Is this really necessary on a service hosting videos? I set it to english uk then it bugs me about english us, i set it to worldwide and it still comes back blabbing about english settings.

If you don't have an account (or don't log in to it every time), Youtube can't easily log every video you watch and sell the data to anyone who offers them money for it. So, obviously, they want you to log on every time. I see this annoying very large bar as an attempt to get you to do so. If you can't turn it off after logging in, that's probably a mistake. Maybe they use a cookie and the OP doesn't allow persistent cookies from Youtube.

I had a look myself, It's definitely cookie related.

Clearing cookies even when logged in brings the message up again, so either you're not allowing cookies to be saved, clearing them, or youtube is having a problem identifying your cookie.

I cannot find anywhere in the account settings to save it to the account.

You're screwed, then. It is, as I thought and Skyfall confirmed, cookie-related and it's check every time YT loads a new page. I've just tested it myself.

Go to Youtube.
Choose a setting on the bloody annoying language bar.
Clear your cookies.
Click on any video in YT, or back to the YT homepage, anything, and the BALB is back.

They could at least spin a bit of AJAX out to let you close/hide the warning or hit one of the options without a full blown page refresh :/

I would have thought the tech's would have lapped up a chance like that!
