hi there
i have been asked to change the front pads on a Renault Clio
is it a straight forward job?
i don't want to take lots of tools with me so what do i need
to get the callipers off
thanks

What model? What year?

If MK1 non-sport you will find you have to drift out tapered holders, then file the ends to get the ends back in ok (my experience). Differs per model.. so more info please :)

just got of the phone with her and she says its
a 1.2i extreme sport 54 reg

Very easy. Both my 1.2 51 plate and 04 plate 2.0 have been really easy to change the front pads. If you've changed pads in the past i see no reason why you wouldn't be able to change them on a Clio

yeah i do all my own pad changes on my cars
i just wanted to know if i needed anything spacial to get the Clio callipers off
you know whats its like, you go off to do a job then find you need a tool you have left at home or haven't got, i dont want to take all my tools, just what i need.

I just did disks and pads on a 2002 1.2 clio at the weekend .

2 bolts behind caliper.. Pop them off and lift caliper clear of disk and remove pads...simple as that... Only thing that holds them in is the disk and a spring on each pad (attatched to pad)

Disks are just 2 screws and belt them with a hammer . Changed both sides in an hour and total cost was £48 for disks and pads .

If you are doing disks (and tbh mad not to at the price) make sure u get the right size as 3 different vented disk size which cought me out .

Persil
