Its from the PS3's folding@home program, i really like image but can only find this low-res version:

although it looks a lot brighter/better on my TV

strange, i got that image from the official life with palystation website, and it matches what i see on the PS3

Also, you guys realise this is the image that comes up before i actually go into the application, it comes up when you hover over the Life icon

I get the crappy globe one... how you change it?!?!

EDIT: Just deleted Life and reinstalled it and I now have the same version as Marcos, even though it still says I have version 1.0. It is also now only 126MB where as it was over 250MB before! The semi-transparent 0 on the XMB is also slightly less transparent than it was before. Previously when Life came out I simply updated FAH rather than delete/reinstall. The usage and content seems to be identical. Very strange!

Out of curiosity Marcos, did you get P@H 'early' by entering F@H and downloading it separately, or did you wait until it was distributed via an update?

I used it for the first time about 6 months ago, just once. Then about a month ago i went into Folding@home for the first time since and it said it needed to update itself,

After it updated itself, the name changed into "Life with Playstation" and had that background i like.

a friend found the solution, you gotta delete Life With Playstation, and the icon stays on the menu, click on it again and it'll re-download and install it.

should have my background then
