What are your favourite films that have been released this year? I figure, with a month and a half to go and all of the games ones have been done, time for some movie fun.
Also, if you think it's worth my tallying up, then I'm more than happy to do so.
My top films this year are:
In third place, it was probably 'Cloverfield'. I know this was a love/hate film, but I loved it. I've only seen it once and that was at a pretty decent cinema, and that probably had a significant effect on how good I thought it was. I loved the style and feel of the film, I did feel the tension they were trying to convey and I thought they did it really effectively. Also, damn that monster was scary.
I actually felt a shiver everytime I saw it.
A damn good watch, I have to say.
In second place, the awesomeness which was 'The Dark Knight'. As a lot of other people think, this was an absolutely astonishing film which superb acting, great plot, great script and everything about it was nigh on perfect. I loved loved LOVED it. Unfortunately, however, I judge how good a film is on how much I enjoyed watching it. Although I had a great time watching this film, there was another that I enjoyed considerably more..
In first place, beyond any shadow of a doubt, is 'Taken'. I don't know why I enjoyed this film so much.. I thought Liam Neeson was superb, but apart from him, there were few to no stand out performances. The action scenes were AWESOME with a capital everything, they just were so simple, yet so effective. I don't know of a film that has given me quite such an adrenaline rush when watching. It was just that every scene just had me going "
I WANT MORE!!1
" Every scene was just unbelievably awesome... I just had such a great time sitting and watching the film, I didn't want it to end.
