anywhere this spec looks dodgy?

Dont mind spending extra if its going to be really worth it. Going to have 2 x 74gb raptors from my old PC as the boot drive.

Looks fine to me. I wouldn't bother with the Raptors tbh.. In fact wouldn't have a single drive either. I'd go for 3 of these in Raid-5

I take it you have a PSU?

yeh already got a good PSU, may as well use the raptors if ive got them.

any idea if you get fans with the case, looking to have the system as quiet as possible

You'll get fans, but they won't be terribly quiet. I'd recommend replacing them with Noctuas or Scythes.

Is it just as good? Only seen reviews etc of the other which looks great

edit: would be using onboard sound, is it worth getting a soundcard. got an old audigy 2 at present

It's an excelent case for it price, but in the end it is your choice and your cash

edit: depends on the sound system/speakers you use as to weather onboard will be good enough or not

Whats the deal with the 4870 card, are the Nvidia ones much better?

Finally...would I be better off getting the next speed up on the memory or is this only really relevant when overclocking?

The 4870 1Gb card is the best value at that particular price point, but there are other cards to consider. It's really down to what resolution you game at and what sort of budget you have.

Ordered it but went for the quicker G Skill memory. Arrives tomororw.

Going from 2gb ddr1 and a very old Athlon x2. Should be a bit quicker
