A guy in america who frequented bodybuilding.com posted on the forum last night saying he was contemplating suicide.

Members of the forum then egged him on to do it and os he did, he rigged up the webcam. Overdosed on pills and never woke up.

How messed up are some people to egg someone on like that on a forum!

A member of the popular site forum.bodybuilding.com committing suicide - and he did it ON CAMERA!!

It all started when the 19 year old told posters that he was considering suicide. Immediately, other board members began taunting him - challenging him to go through with his suicide threat.

Finally, after hours of harassment, the man reportedly set up a web camera and did it.

The webcam stream reportedly showed the 19 year old swallowing pills and eventually lying down on his bad. A few hours later, the young man stopped breathing.

The next morning, after moderators on the board tracked down the man's info, the web stream showed an officer kicking in the door and finding the youngsters body.

Link has swearing

Theres a video at the bottom which is from the webcam, it shows the moment police kick the door in and find him :(

What are the legal consequences of this does anyone know? I wouldn't think people could be arrested for it since one could argue it's just freedom of speech, but who knows.

It is.

But people started posting links to pictures and videos of it, so it was deleted.

Ah, thanks for clarifying, I was sure I'd posted in something like this earlier today!

My original post basically said that it's extremely sad and shocking at the amount of people egging him on or slating him for taking his own life and not considering "others feelings" clearly don't know what it's like to live with depression and how nothing else matters other than ending it :(

Wow, that's pretty bad; in a more pragmatic mode of thought though, you would have thought that at least one member of the forum may have phoned the police at some point not long after seeing him OD.

It's one of the problems with the internet to be honest. In the end much of the communication is fairly unemotive. Most, if not all, members of that forum cannot have known that he was serious. It could quite easily have been an elaborate prank, considering some of the stuff you see on the internet. I'm not trying to sound cynical or anything here, as it's a really horrible thing, but it was almost an accident waiting to happen.
