Hi all,
I've just replaced my old A33G mobo with a Foxconn 6150M2MA-KRS2H mobo from OcUK. I built up the PC using all the same components from my old system (which was running right up until I powered it off for the upgrade). Tried running the new system and noticed that the CPU fan spins for maybe 2 or 3 seconds then stops. No signal on the monitor and no beeps from the speaker. I've checked all the connectors inc the power and 4 pin power. Nothing. Check CMOS, clear ir, replaced battery - nothing. I've even removed the mobo and run it outisde of the case with only the CPU and RAM (onboard GFX) to eliminate grounding and still the problem remains. Pulled the CPU and the connection between the CPU and heatsink is excellent.

Any ideas?

Unplug all the unnessasary nonsence required to get the machine going, failing that attempt to use a screw driver to start it up by shortin the 2 power switch pins, failing that change the psu and if push comes to shove you probably have a short somewhere on your motherboard, then into zeee bin, if you hve tried all of the above then take the motherboard out and look at the back and see if one of the tracks has burn out.

I've come across many of these issues, time for a new MB me finks

I stripped the system down to just mobo, ram and CPU and still nothing. The PSU is fine (swapped that out into a spare PC), used a new speaker (no beeps) etc etc. My last option is to rebuild my previous system . If that works OK then I will have to RMA the board.
Thanks for your input folks.

try another psu

i had client pc the other day that wouldn't boot from one of my 'working' psu's which works fine in all other machines?

Curses! Due to my slow response in getting the mobo fitted (kids play havoc with your free time) I missed the 14 day window on B-grade stock. Ho hum. I think its destined for the bin.

contact ocuk via webnote and link to this thread.

since you're an old member, they might be extra nice :)

hummm mine spin for 2 secs, stops then carries on with boot, from what i understand its a combo between the psu and mobo doing power checks to make sure everything is working and not gunna blow up in ye face, but it only does it if i turn off thwe switch on the back of the pc or unplug it from the mains, i.e. not everyboot. :p umm, possibly check all connections again. if so then u could try a different psu (just get some from the guys in purple, tried it, found out my other psu was dodgy so then just took it back to them saying it wasnt uptop my standards ;) ) dodgy i know yes but cheaper than paying someone to look at your pc then go... yea it's broken :p hehe
