19 year old commits suicide live on bodybuilding.com

It's really sad that people egg someone who needs emotional help. It's no surprise that people who are into body building might have issues with self-esteem but suicide is too far.

People with emotional problem relying their hope on an Internet forum... It's quite obvious

I still refuse to see how you can tell if somebody is dead or asleep when laying on a bed using just a webcam.

People started getting alarmed when they noticed that the wrinkles in his vest and shorts etc didn't change. After an hour he would have at least flinched, causing them to change a slight bit.

Then people realised it wasn't a still image or looping video because the light in the room was changing as the sun moved.

Sick to hear people egg'ed him on to do it.

Here is some parts snipped off google of people kinda egging him on and saying it isn't real.

(Sorry if that is against the rules?) :(

Some of the bodybuilding forums are full of absoulte freaks, especially the American ones, have a look at getbig

Just ask yourself about the typical mentality required to be a bodybuilder. Then ask yourself whether the display of 'personalities' on that forum is unexpected or not.

Yep, bodybuilders are like normal people, some will perfectly normal, others will be obsessed, some like to troll message boards etc, just like car enthusiasts.

When I was a lad, sometime ago, I was just about to get into competitive bodybuilding (south Britain under 18 / 21's) when I realized that it really wasn't for me. It's no secret that a large number or people who indulge or take this hobby seriously take steroids, obviously and especially the people you see in magazines etc. I was no different, and although we all are unique and react to diet / environmental influences and other things differently (by means of our genetics), I found that my moods were dreadful. Don't talk to me about testosterone.
Very sad what happened, when you consider what of mind someone has to be in for this to eventually happen. :(

What commitment, dedication, devotion, hard work etc?

By the same method that the "people from the Internet" knew; he had a bloody webcam on him the whole time!

If they weren't sure he was dead, why not bring the paramedics?

And so on and so forth, with predictable results.

they did bring the paramedics just the majority of screen prints are of the cops...if you search about u'll see some pictures of guys in white tops carrying scissors and such and i beleive im correct in thinking there the paramedics

Stupid police, do they really think that someone is going to swallow a load of pills on webcam, lie their for hours not moving waiting for the paramedics to arrive and then shoot everyone in the room? Does no one have any common sense anymore.

My point being they couldn't reliably tell what the score was, the info they had from some person on a forum, an image on a webcam, it makes sense to err on the side of caution.

It seems logical to me, if he's been laying there for 10 hours unmoving i'd rather take a few extra seconds to ensure mine and others safety, he's probably already dead, nice? not really but a reality for dealing with situations like this day in day out i'd imagine. As some one said, how can you tell much from a webcam image, in the time to responding to an emergency call.

I thought it was protocol to inform paramedics and have them present for calls like this, same as it is neccesary to have police present for domestic violence etc. (this is speculation, but seems logical to me, where a crime may have occured, you provide for a means to control a re-occurence of the crime).

And as for growing up, i consider myself grown up independent and even fully potty trained!! from my experiences on this forum, i don't retract my statement or even consider waivering it slightly.

At the end of the day, the guy killed himself through problems he had and made it a public event on a forums, I dont feel sympathy and i understand the police response.

Edit - Common sense is not ASSUMING he killed himself as a definition "A form of evidence that is based on conventional wisdom, tradition, or someone’s personal philosophy or perspective" which would argue that they should take care, not make assumptions, based on training and experience

ffs...

For one i have no sympathy for people who commit suicide. I just think they are cowards. To do it on the internet as well? that's even more ridiculous. What's the point in broadcasting it to everyone? of course people would egg him on. The amount of garbage the majority of people speak on the internet, i'm not suprised they egged him on.

I've not read the majority of posts on this topic, as i'm sure they will be opposite to my views but this thread upsets me more for the body builder's stupidity and selfishness more than anything else.

Sorry for not reading thread, I don't want to go through thousands of "omg thats terrible" "what an idiot" etc.

Just wondering, did it ever come to light why he did it?
