Just ask yourself about the typical mentality required to be a bodybuilder. Then ask yourself whether the display of 'personalities' on that forum is unexpected or not.

Your comments just get better and better.

I am a typical body builder and didn't want to join that forum because of its immature bullying behavior. What happened was tragic and shouldn't of been left to spiral out of control, hopefully the moderators on that site will now pull there fingers out of there ass's:rolleyes:.

ffs...

For one i have no sympathy for people who commit suicide. I just think they are cowards.

how do you figure? actually going through with it takes a lot of guts. the real cowards are the ones who want to end it all but cant do it and end up in a continuous loop of dispare and suffering. Contemplating suicide is serious and complex and to glaze over the situation and call them cowards is amazingly short sighted.

short sighted?

suicide is taking the easy option and running away from your problems. Why not face them and try to deal with them. The pain and grief you will cause on your friends and family will be unbearable.

I still completely stand by calling them cowards. 100%

If you had a terminal disease, then it's a different story. This boy was a body builder. I would hardly call him brave for what he did.

No, not being able to go through it when you feel you have nothing left to live for is cowardly. The pain and grief you cause your family will always be extremely hard for them, but i dont understand this mentality of "who cares if you've given up, think of the family". Its about the person in question at the end of day, not anybody else. You could say thats a selfish view and you'd be right but there you go. if you're ever in that situation, you may understand it:)

I wouldnt call him brave either, but it was his choice to make. and dont forgot the kid was bipolar amongsts other things - it actually DOES alter your preception and outlook on life.

I don't understand the guns, either. What's that all about? And why point them at him?
It's standard procedure? The guys on the scene may not necessarily have agreed with that approach but they're professionals and that's what they're trained to do.

There's something very wrong with a country
No, there is something wrong with you. I know bashing America is fashionable on these forums but it is getting beyond tiresome.

Check the biography in my profile
You don't seem to be doing a very good job, but that is understandable as your one and only adversary is named Tyler Durden.

Trying to make suicide seem like a brave thing to do, hilarious.

im speaking from experiance here, is it still hilarious? the way i felt about myself, for years, was at times unbearable to the point where yes i considered it more than once. i hurt my friends and my loved ones, just as that kid did, and i just kept doing it. I didnt go through with it because....i dont know - i just couldnt.

I dont even know why i feel I really have to justify what im saying but i guess some people wont (thank goodness) know what it ever feels like to be in that position. When you feel you are constantly destroying anything and everything you touch, pushing your loved ones away, you really do feel like suicide is the best option for everybody. End your suffering, end the suffering you inflick on them. The last thing you feel you want to to is continue down that path of never-ending hurt, depression spiralling mood swings and everythin else that goes with it.

But there you go, thats my experiance and i wont comment further on it. Thank god i sorted myself out when i did and my experiance has taught me never to insult or belittle those who go through with it. I can uderstand why, even if I or anybody else thinks its not the right thing to do.

IMO i think the cops could have gotten to him if that bulker guy didn't live in india. as you can see he was really worried and urging people to call the cops.

Stupid police, do they really think that someone is going to swallow a load of pills on webcam, lie their for hours not moving waiting for the paramedics to arrive and then shoot everyone in the room? Does no one have any common sense anymore.

There have been many policeman who've died using common sense and they are more knowledgeable than us to make decisions when entering a room.
They have seen it all and know what they could expect.

*snip* "they would probably kill themselves anyway" is an excuse only an bad person would use.

And what makes somebody a "Bad" person? What you say so? What somebody else says is bad?

Its all subjective really.

I'll agree with the other people that are saying it was bound to happen anyway, does one less suicidal person make much of a difference?

Edit: Also for the people disputing the police action, who's to say that the web cam was showing the address they where about to enter? Could well of been some random guys in a flat ready to shoot the cops.

More Edit:

darwinism at work.

I saw this thread when it opened then on the way home last night it was mentioned on Radio 1 news. That site might get hammered/shut down next.

kid was depressed anyway... no matter what they had said he was gonna do it

and he suicided @ justin.tv not bodybuilding.com

some woman was on sky saying that these threats should be taken seriously... but no, no they shouldnt

its no different than some person coming up to you on the street and saying hes going to kill himself... that most likely wouldnt be taken seriously by most people either...
