For any of you who have tried and tested.....

How loud is this? My little 8800 GTS is fairly silent

Im more in it for running applications like photoshop CS4 which now uses OpenGL, any one else use for this???

Assuming you get a non-faulty one (and I believe most of those have been weeded out by now) it should be fairly quiet under load and very quiet while idling.

Can't answer your other question though.

Not sure how many people will have CS4 installed.

There were lots of faulty BFG 280 OC around. I had 2 and I know of a few other who also suffered from OH.

hmm i got mine last motnh and its been fine, well apart from some high pitch noise form the card when paying some games

Mine does that too and its not even a bfg 280 just a palit 260gtx

My 8800 whines a lot too, safe to say it's symptomatic of nvidia cards? What about the current crop of ATI cards like the 4870, do they produce the same level of whining/electrical noise?

heh strange my 8800 gts never did make any noise!
