and sail to the coast of somalia, I fancy doing some pirating! Arrrrrrrrgh.

Which of you buccanneers wants to join ol'foxy in grabbing some loot (aka oil).

I think we should re'hijack that tanker and bring it to the UK.

Or atleast show the Somalians how pirating is done. Jolly Roger style.

And are we talking proper jolly Rodger? because i don't know if we'd be able to stop a super tanker with our wooden ship...

nah we'll never overtake America, we just can't match their carrier capacity/numbers/huge budget.

however we'll end up with fewer more advanced ships which will let us arse rape all he others :p

At least 4 x Astute clas submarines, possibility of 8 (world's best)
6 x Type 45 destroyers (world's best)
2 x Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers

But, we're losing a lot too. We don't (technically) need such a large navy, same ethos as our military. Better to be small and highly mobile.

But, if Labour stay in, I bet most of this gets cancelled. Was originally supposed to be 12 subs, 10 Type 45's etc...

Don't need to overtake them in terms of size. Astute should be able to take out anything they have. War games should be fun!

they've got more than enough ships + carriers+subs, and missile defences to take our navy en mass if they wished.


The fighter wave that the combined carriers could send would probably be enough.
 
The naval power that america can project is unprecedented. A single carrier battle group, with its attached submarines can deliver more firepower than any country in the world. Even the presence of a cbg can be enough to quell any troublemakers.
 
im definitely up for a wee sailing trip... especially if we come out of it £6million richer!! how can they get away with this?
