DS Games for 6 year old

Hi All,

I have been looking around for DS games for my six year old for Christmas. He has Lego Indiana Jones on it (his only game - poor boy) and loves it, we have had Lego Star Wars on the Wii and will soon get Batman for the Wii.

My question is - are there any other games with a similar skill level and age appropriateness as the Lego games? I am thinking that some of the Mario games would be good but from experience he cannot do timed jumps etc found in Mario Galaxy so it would have to be a pretty forgiving but fun game. We don't need tears of frustration on Christmas morning!

Any advice would be appreciated!

My 5 year old son likes racing games and especially Hot Wheels and Monster Jam, he also plays the Lego games but I doubt that a 6 year old can play a Mario game without getting frustrated by deing too often.

I can also suggest R4DS :D
 
Thanks for the idea, hadn't thought of racing games.

We have Mario Kart on the Wii - he and his brother are playing it now (in 9th and 12th place!).

Ideally I think he would like an adventure type game - do any exist?

Do you know if there is a lot of reading in the game to tell you what to do? His reading is not 100% yet! Apart from that it sounds like a good idea for him, thanks.

I am not sure about the DSTT type things, are they above board?
 
Mario Kart, New Super Mario Brothers and my cousin loves playing Pokemon although he is nearing 8.

No theres not much reading to do just mad stuff with the pen from picking bogies to moving things around the screen
 
He is currently in to Transformers Animated. There is a tie in game but looking at reviews it doesn't score too high. Anyone played it?

Also anyone played the Ben 10 game?
