The other thing that makes me lol about this thread is that the OP joined in Aug 2006, and uses the term "lately". I've been around here since 2002 (though obviously a new account) and there's ALWAYS been loads of random posts on GD, it wouldn't be GD if all of the threads where worthy of being published in the Times would it!
