Im a Hairdresser!

What version of the Elise are you on about? Certainly not a 111R but then again you wouldn't get a 111R for less than 18k, so i'm guessing you mean the 135bhp model?

Looks nice anyway, my sister had one and it was nice to drive, although I wasn't much for the driving position. Plenty of grunt in them though

Yes just a stock 135bhp elise or even 118bhp would be slower. 5.9 0-62mph on the 225 TT. That must be the quick elise as the slow S1 is 6.6sec. I was talking about the slower ones, as the 160bhp ones are too much money to buy, but still cheap to insure.

Nathan - Its not the fact its a mk 1 TT - Its the fact I look 12 and drive one. Bloody hell, TT as common as muck nobody gives them a 2nd look.

not supprised that if you look 12 people stare

I was driving round wakefield the other day, and saw a very nice Version 5 Impreza STI import. The lad that was driving it was on his own, driving very sensibly (despite the deafenning superdrager exhaust) but looked about 12 !!

like you, he was probably in his twenties, but didnt stop me staring ! and again, scoobies are common as muck.

Thanks all. Thanks Ken, lol, what dont you like about it? I think this is one of the best interiors you can get personnely. Yes I could have got more performance and got an Evo, but I would have had to put up with Evo interiors

Standard 118bhp Elise is either 5.8 or 5.9 seconds depending on who you believe. The figures form the TT seem to vary between 6.0 and 6.4. The TT has a bit under twice the power, but twice the weight and a 4WD system to sap power.

To suggest the TT is far faster is stretching the bounds of plausibility.

Quite possibly then. It didn't fit the bill as it isnt much quicker and lacks all the day to day refinements that I will use, but was also under the impression it wasn't as quick but clearly that was miss judged.

My Elise (111R) is faster than my TT (3.2 V6) that's for certain.

The TT is the better everyday car though. It has a suprisingly large boot, can fit small people in the back, is quiet to drive and doesn't require you to be a yoga expert to get in and out of. Oh, and it has a lovely flappy paddle gearbox, I dunno how I'm gonna go back to a normal gearbox after the Audi.

Could you give any estimation on 0-60 or general improvements from the remap from 225 to 269? Did you test drive any standard 225 models?

I dunno if you've got a TT already, or whether you're looking to buy but if you are looking to buy then just skip the 225 and get a V6, better in every way.
250BHP as standard, much more low down torque, DSG gearbox, better front bumper and rear spoiler. Oh, and noise :D

There are quite a few available for £10k now so they're not any more expensive than the 225.

Sadly I only drive a 180 Roaster and coupe and never drove a standard 225 yet. Drove the S200 but not an elise. I wanted a 225 over a V6 due to the tunablity, tho that front bumper is to die for!

Why would you want a 225 so you can tune it to 265BHP when the V6 comes with 250BHP out of the box and is loads more driveable? (and a remap on the V6 gives 18BHP anyway)

Thats very good. Mate has a R32 (same engine) with Full miltek system and Carbino and remap and doesnt even get that! Turbos are nearly always more tunable, you cant get anymore power from that V6 without chargers and these engines dont responded well to charging and cause all sorts of problems. Ive never had a Turbo motor so fancied one. Dont get me wrong the v6 sounds gorgeous, but each to their own, fancy a Nobel or TVR next so im sure il get a nice note from them:D
