Basically going over there in Feb next year , is it worth making my trainers last a few more months and buy them over there .??

Anyone know if there is a vast saving on adidas superstars trainers for example ??

Thanks in advance

Well theyre either fake, or the people on the stalls have family/friends who work in the factories and they have stolen the goods to sell themselves. So either black market or grey market. Either way, Ive bought stuff in markets in Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand and it looks just the same as the stuff in the shops and in most cases lasts. To be honest, stuff is so cheap that you could buy 3 or 4 pairs. Just remember to haggle..the first price they quote you will always be their attempt at a long shot ..which will still seem cheap to us. Ask for their best price and ask for extra discount if you're buying lots. They know their limits and will still be making a great profit off tourists.
Anywayyyyy..long story short.. Id wait!
Have fun!

Ooooh you've been unbanned. I voted they let you back but with a nice new avatar.. sadly seems my suggestion was ignored *sniff* ;)

Plus bought some fake trainers in markets before.. theyre just the same as real ones and in a lot of cases are grey market items..i.e. real but just being sold illegally by workers from factories etc.. so they shouldnt harm your feet.

To be fair I have never actually bothered buying stuff like electronics, cameras, clothes etc abroad unless it's genuine branded stuff from the USA as I can get it all cheaper here, or posted to here for less.

In countries like Malaysia you have to haggle, I would rather do more sight seeing than haggle for 20 mins over a pair of trainers that I can get here online.

and fake trainers probably won't do your feet any good.

any reason why ?

in most cases theyre exactly the same as real ones but maybe not stitched/glued to as high a quality. most of them use the exact same shape/size material cutouts and same moulds etc

I watched a program about it few months back about how fakes can do damage to your feet if your not careful, can't remember why tbh, was a while ago.

there is a great night market near the central maket, which will do exactly what you want. I cant rember what it called, but we stayed in the Mandarin Pacific turn right out of it and right again. it awsome, Go, Go now

Unless shoes are specifically fitted and your walking and running style is examined most if not all shoes are going to be damaging to some of us over time.

Even the "legit" ones over here, are mass produced to one non-specific shape.

I'd buy the ones over there, you may not even get some fake ones if you know what I mean. I know I'd take avantage of the cheap prices. I'm sorry, but there is no need to charge upto £200 for a pair generic trainers just because they're done by Nike or Adidas.

Never been to KL but have been to Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, all had some awesome trainer shops with stuff you just don't get over here. As for the price well that depends on what the pound is doing at that point in time as it's nearly lost 30% of its value since I was there early this year.
