Why Steam is so expensive at the minute.
They should have a Steam system for UK that is similar prices, if not cheaper, than retail. I kinda thought that was the point of Steam?
This topic has been debated over and over again. The reason why steam is more expensive is because they still need retailers to sell their games. If the game is cheaper in steam the retailers refuse to sell the game as there's little point thus ruining sales.

I paid £40 but could have got it for £27 had I shopped around hardly a couple a quid

I pre ordered it, cost something like $44.99.
Don't mind paying up to about £30 for a PC game.
And I've never been able to buy a game and activate it on steam, so I just buy games from Steam, makes playing with friends easier.

Early pre-order from steam - £35
Loss made buying from steam - £15
Early access to demo - Somewhat worth it
Being able to preload the game and play it the minute it was released with three mates until 3am the following morning without worrying about delivery and install problems - Priceless
