Drink lots of fluids
Eat quality food (5 a day) and get some extra Vitamin C
Towel over head and inhale over a bowl of steaming water
Get plenty rest

sudafed and disprin are my two weapons of choice, although I pretty much never get colds (which I hold down to eating lots of fruit and drinking a bottle of tropicana a day :D)

also got a cold myself, which ive had for about a week but really want it to go away by new years eve so i can go out and enjoy myself.

No vitamin c tablets/pills in the house but been drinking lots of orange juice and water, still wont go away!

Pour a freshly boiled kettle of water into the sink, but a towel over your head and let the steam empty your pores and get rid of the cold :)

Works for me.

You cant beat the cold and flu bugs...they own you longtime.

Please for the love of god dont do what i did over this past week whilst suffering from major man flu...

I sent the wife out to buy the very strongest over the counter flu tablets available, then i decided i knew better than the instructions and because im a "big lad" took an extra tablet every 4 hours...what i didnt realise was that most of the flu tablets contain a goodly dose of caffeine in them, so long story short....for the past 3 nights i have been a no-sleeping jibbering mess.

Stupidly i didnt realise the cause of my nocturnal gurning after the first night, i just put it down to the flu making me stay awake/be uncomfortable as possible.

healthy food - vitamins, minerals etc
water - always good to keep good fluid levels especially if you keep blowing your nose
lemsip max - suppresses affects
rest - gives you more energy to fight flu

I've had a cold the past few days too, been taking Lemsip, Vitamin C supplements and stuff to suppress it a bit. Also gone deaf in one ear too so I'm off to the doctors later to get that checked out, because the drops I've got aren't working anymore. Feels like my body is falling to bits!
