He is buying used though so this doesnt matter, he will 'save' that £2500 and after 2 years or so the difference will be smaller so he wont lose more. It wont always be £2500 difference otherwise when they are all ancient a car without 19's and navs would be free :p

thats partly my point, Glass's listed no nav as a £2000 reduction when they were £25k+ and still list it as the same with the car now half the price

I never had Sat Nav in either of mine. Cost £2400 list when I bought and about £1200 come trade in time. Map nav worked fine and I was £1200 better off too.

What the hell is a map? :p

I'd be tempted to go for the 18s if they aren't going to fall apart, and I think they look nice on those ridiculous bright blue M3s.

In theory if you find one with recent Inspection II then you'll have.. well Rotty had that bonus when selling his, isnit boyos.

estoril blue is ok but attracts too much of a premium for me

popular colours are

estoril blue
steel grey
titanium silver
carbon black

unpopular

white
phoenix yellow
smurf ( laguna seca ) blue
boston green

what is this? is this when the car is brand new and has to have an service for the first 1200 miles of its life?

yes, there is a running in service at 1200 miles, if this is missed/late most dealers won't touch it and it will be very difficult to sell

why is this? what is performed for the 1200miles service that can't be done at 2000miles for example?

tbh I think it's a bit ridiculous too but there is this perception that it this was missed it will affect reliability for the life of the car, if it was totally missed then maybe but a bit late probably won't harm but it does amssively affect used values

if anyone has a copy of Glass's then maybe they can quote what it says on the subject

I'm sure the BM is made to more exacting standards but my (don't all cars/bikes?) bike needed a running-in service at 600 miles I think. Main reason I recall was that there's going to be lots of debris from all those rusty nails they forgot to counter-sink smashing around and prematurely wearing stuff. Although how much this will do between 1200 and 2000 miles only Geoff Capes can say.

1200 miles = 2000km ;)

just a conversion from our metric friends in germany rather than a randomly generated number;)
