Utterly pointless cars

As I'm spending the day in a Mini Cooper Clubman today (No, the 530i isn't broken, so don't waste your time asking :p) and actually using it, I have come to the conclusion that its a completely pointless car and the stupid boot doors are a complete faff and an utter nuisance.

Which makes me wonder - what other pointless cars can you think of? Cars that really exist for no fathomable reason whatsoever, not simply cars you dont like. IE, a Corsa is not pointless.

I'll start us off with Mini Cooper Clubman for the reasons stated above.

What's the name of that new Vauxhall faux-4x4 piece of ****? I get angry when I see it. Dunno why. Maybe it's the people behind the wheel?

It's pretty pointless.

Oh yeah...the Toyota Prius.

streetwise, y0 :/

err, yes..

Renault Grand Modus, for those people that need a car 20cm longer than a Modus but obviously a Scenic at 40cm longer is way too much.

Fiat Multipla - for both it's sheer ugliness and because I don't see the point.

The stupid Antara? I agree, only on the basis thats its only 5 seats when the daft Chevrolet clone has 7 seats and is cheaper. Not that I would buy that as I see no need for some jumped up MPV 4x4. I will also vote for the X3, Portch Panamera and the Renault Modus with "boot chute." Stop being lazy and just open it properly!

im with fox on the clubman and will throw in the 206sw. What a pointless car.
why buy a small hatchback in estate form? just buy a normal sized hatchback!

I don't think the X3 is that pointless. It's cheaper, new, than an X5, and at least fulfils a purpose even if its a misguided purpose.

I think its safe to say that any normal car/mpv/supermini/citycar/anything that has had plastic bumpers and raises suspension fitted can be classed as pointless.

I suppose it makes it easier to point and laugh at fools, but then thats what the SsangYong Rodius is for.

This has black plastic wheel arches and stuff as well. EPIC

Why are you in the Clubman though? If your 530 isnt broke, it means you have CHOSEN to drive the Clubman over a fully functional 530......?

I have a neighbour who has a Rodius, I think I might have seen a taxi plate on the back of it, but I try to avert my eyes when it's in the car park lest I vomit. Horribly ugly, stupid thing.

Oh, and my contribution is the Peugeot 1007.

The Clubman works a bit better in left hand drive countries where that silly door actually lines up with the pavement and means your kids don't have to get out onto the road.

Pointless cars? I'd vote for the "new Beetle", it's basically an overpriced Golf with some fancy bodywork that makes the car an awful lot harder to work on. Also the obligatory anyone who bought a 4x4 to do the school run option.

Ford Fusion sold with the tag line The tall car for the tall city or should that have been the tall fiesta for morons. How about the Golf+ just incase a normal golf didn't have a high enough roof already?
