Utterly pointless cars

Hmm, interesting one:
BMW X6 - I have seen a few, and every time I think "What possible reason could you have for wanting a SUV with coupe styling"
Toyota Prius - Good idea, sadly it fell flat on its face, if you need mega economy buy a Bluemotion or similar
To group cars, the whole trend of taking small family hatchbacks (Golf, A3, Focus et al) and chopping the roof off, giving it a trendy name and calling it a CC. I can not see the point, it's just a family hatchback, with none of the practicality.

The multipla mentioned above, I don't see that as pointless. Did it not have quite a good seat layout and "family friendly" interior?

Each time I see one I either:
a) Laugh uncontrolably at how disgusting it looks and how pointless it is, and how much of a better car (or two!) you could have bought for the same amount or less which would (more than likely) be more suitable for the owners' needs
b) almost vomit at the sheer ugliness of it and then laugh at how pointless it is, and how muc...
As for my suggestions, I'd say the new Beetle as it ruined the image of the originals
BMW's take on the mini in general for the same reason, and are driven by berks more often than not
Prius - useless and more harmful than a 'normal' non-eco car before it's even reached the showroom
Most 4 seat convertibles, an old quote from his Clarkson-ess along the lines of "Anybody in the back of a 4 seat convertible looks like hitler!" IMO you should have a 4 seater coupe or a 2 seater convertible, not sure why but just IMO
Supermini diesels - WHY??? They get just as good MPG from a 1.2 engine and the owner's shirley don't expect to be carrying/towing a terribly large amount from such a small car with a 1.4 diesel engine with severe lack or torque?

Good call actually. If you wanted a saloon rather than a hatchback, why not just go for the Mondeo.
Edit: Yes I know a lot of Mondeos are technically hatchbacks, but they are still vastly more practical if you want something with a lot of boot space.
What about the 2 door even worse surely? Even more pointless. I'm struggling to think of a truly pointless car, each has some form of merit even if it is misguided.

For what is basically an Astra with a different body, the Zafira is a fairly decent people carrier with a good amount of cargo room, when the 'dreadful park bench like seats' are folded away.

Isnt it the prius that does more damage to the planet in its manafacture than a 4x4 does in its life?
I did not know they even did them. Zafira yes, but not a meriva.
I have to say thinking about the R-class certainly brings back memories. An absolute tank of a car an arse the size of lisa riley after binging on 400 pure saturated fat bars. Horrible, either choose an M or an E estate !
I cahn't think of a preference to saloons over an estate or the cross-platform saloon/hatchbacks like the Mondeo. The saloon doesn't have any advantage over the hatchback or estate other than looks. Unless I'm missing something in my tired state.
