Ok just got off the phone to her and she's got a year 8 group who use a lot of 'text speak' or abbreviated terms to try and confuse her.

She just asked me for some things she could say to shock or impress them.

I thought who better to ask than a bunch of Overclockers...

(Would be good if we could come up with a sentence or something to shock or possibly insult, but nothing too risky).

The last thing schools need is teachers encouraging that ****. Tell her to focus on belittling the intelligence of anyone using text speak on anything other than a mobile phone.

Way to over react, she isn't introducing into the ****ing syllabus.

I don't know how socially inept at school you were, but some students have a laugh with their teachers during things called tutorials. Some teachers are pretty down to earth and don't bore the hell out of their pupils.

Maybe she should just put a rocket underneath anyone who uses text speak in her class? That's what would have happened in my day if anyone tried to deliberately confuse the teacher.

Oddly enough, it was my English teacher who I got on best with at school and who was most down to earth. She instilled in me a love for the English language. Maybe if teachers spent more time encouraging the use of proper English we wouldn't have so many teeth sucking, innit blud, illiterate hoods that seem to be clogging up the unemployment lines because they don't have a grasp of basic English.
