Utterly pointless cars

I would like to add the Smart car to the list.
How on earth people can pay in excess of £10,000 for a coffin on wheels defies logic.

Renault Megane classic.

If you though the new shape ones looked awful enough to design and market this car, why bother releasing the ugly new one

The Ford Scorpio could fit into this too. I never trust a car that looks like it's smiling at you.

Can we have engine ranges? If so; the E60 545i and the MG ZT-T.

The E60, 545i, what was the point? It wasn't massivly different to the V8's of the 540i and the 550i.

Also the Mustang lump in the ZT-T, fantastic engine, fantasic car, but, not the best idea for a dying company renowed for building **** cars.

MR2 with 3S-FE, utter pants.

The 545i wasn't in the range at the same time as the 540i. Technically speaking the 540i replaced it. When the E60 came out, the 4.4 V8 was 545i. This has since been replaced by a newer 4.0 V8, the current 540i.

Isnt it the prius that does more damage to the planet in its manafacture than a 4x4 does in its life?
That's the one, mostly due to the huge bank of batteries where the raw material comes from Canada, is refined in Wales, assembled in Japan and then shipped back to America or the UK or wherever.

Ford Sierra Shapire - why not just get a Ford Orion?

It's quite difficult to fit a Cosworth lump into a Ford Onion and even if you did it would still be Front Wheel Drive

Actually all the last lot of MG cars, I forget their actual names but I refer to the MG 25, MG 45 and MG 75. They're just Rovers that look like they're ready to appear on Barryboys.

Faith is restored in the Germans, everything makes sense

What about the 2 door even worse surely? Even more pointless. I'm struggling to think of a truly pointless car, each has some form of merit even if it is misguided.

Especialy since (like the E30 2 door), the shape is exacly the same, it doesn't look like a coupe. It looks like a saloon with 2 doors missing.

It was an great decision IMO, and really a very good car. I doubt it had it any significant bearing on the ultimate success of (or lack of) the company to be honest; I can't see Rover still being here if they hadn't made it.

They just showed what they could have been, I suppose you could call it the swan song but it just gives more ammo for 'arghhh why didn't you do this earlier' :p

The Focus saloon strikes me as a poor design choice, I think the majority of Focus owners agree with me.

The Focus 4 Door has a massive market outside of the UK, it's easier to get into the rear seats than the hatchback and is a saloon, (i know i know, there is an attraction to have a saloon.) It's smaller than the gargantuan mondeo and is a lot cheaper too.

Basically a 4 door saloon. Only, the hatchback is more popular here. You may go ahead and ask why there is a 4 door Fiesta in other markets......i dont know the answer to that.
