Anyone modded the Antec 300, cut holes in the mobo tray to run wires, cut hole below psu or cut the grills out where the fans go?

Seen that thread but to be honest all the guy did was spray his case. I want to know if anyone has cut holes in it as in my opening thread. Ta

Well - perhaps you'd get more replies if you quantified your question. Your simply asking if people have cut metal. Thats a yes/no question. Perhaps if you shared your intentions, questions or ideas then you may get people who have cut where you asked, for a reply.

I have two of them.... but not cut anything!

I remember seeing a video on youtube, its got two parts and on one of the parts he does cut out two holes out of the tray.

I was going to be doing the same just didn't have the time to do so, so i only cut a window in the side panel.

But it is quite easy to do, just put your mobo in and mark out where the cables are running off from and then just cut (Dremel would be the easiest way)

So, this does not explain what i want to know:

I thought that was self explanitary?

right lets start,

people have modded the antec 300: have a look at this http://www.themodbrothers.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=15

personally no i have not cut holes in the mobo tray though i have seen pics of a build where someone has. but to be honest you probably wont need too, just get a modular psu. (will try and track down the pics).

i think someone on here was going to cut a hole below the psu, but to be honest its just going to pick up loads of dust. also if you have to have the psu the right way around there is a few mm of space between the psu fan and the case.

why would you want to cut grills out? you can take the fan cage out but i think in the modding blog (link above) he was doing something like that.

Well, i have a Modular PSU but it always looks neater and for better airflow it would be best to tuck the wires away neatly.

A hole below the PSU with a filter on is much better than no hole at all and also better than turning the PSU over.

Cutting the fan grills out would also give you better airflow / less noise.
