Tomb Raider : Underworld Demo

Even though I am busy with so many good games I could not resist downloading the game from D2D on the weekend. It's a good game which looks gorgeous and in my opinion has been hard done by in reviews. The camera by far is the real weakness of the game as it can effect your directional movement which is critical in a game that is in essence a platform jumper.

I have noticed that in game AF is not working properly so I have forced it on in the control panel. It makes a big difference in this game.

I have em all on PC as well as a few on PS1. PC version in every case is vastly superior. Tomb Raider 1 you can even get some mods to improve the gfx a bit as well as add missing sounds/music from the PS1 version.:D

Im stuck now lol, ive made my way down to the ground (where those 2 statues are with the fans which yer can pull about), and up over to the right where you can climb up that wall using the grapple, i got the guys arm down from over there, but i can't seem to get over to the other side to do his other arm (which i guess you need to do as well), and god knows what you got to do with those statues as well, ive just been pulling them around that circle where they dont seem to do bugger all. :D

Ill have another go later, see if i can suss it. :p

I'm guessing the other arm you're on about is the arm with the "scales" platform that goes down by itself (you have to dangle on the pole above it to bring platformup).

There's a crate near by, drag the crate near it then dangle on the pole and as soon as the platform raises drop from the pole and push the crate under the platform so it cannot go fully down as when it goes fully down the arm goes back up!

The statues with the mirrors fan things need to be arranged to face the statue so the light beams cross and go into the statues head amulet thing!
 
I've now reached the hidden tomb, got 3 of the 4 "plates" with just the red one left. Pretty section of the game too!

YES!!!!, ive finally done the statue, bloody brilliant bit that. :D

Im well chuffed, it was quite an achievement doing all that just to get to his other arm. :p

Lol not long after this bit don't forget to keep your bike with you at each point because I forgot and had to run around back and forth until I realised "hey I can ride it!"

You'll know what I mean :p

You mean, you left your bike at the start of the level and did all that mileage on foot.


Thats Insane :D
 
It'll take me a while to find the bike as im well stuck, ive done that bit where thor is (the bridge you move about with the gauntlet) and got over to that other door, but all thats in there is a bit water (with a door below the surface) and one of those rings to put yer grapple in on the side wall, but i can't do bugger all in there, can't open that door below the surface of the water, and can't get over the other side to the entrance thats blocked with rubble. :confused:

Unless ive missed a switch to open that door in the Thor room, as the hint says to get into the vertical structure and pull something down lol.

EDIT: In which case im ******, as she hasn't got the gauntlet anymore so can't move the structure about, will mean starting the whole game again as ive never saved it. :(

I'll have another go tomorrow see if can suss it then. :p

I think i know where you mean, Grapple over to the other side.

Is there a pole you can jump on that should drop down while your hanging on it ?

That will open the underwater door *i think
 
Yeah just done it, im out and back at Croft Manor for the next level now, but man that was a toughy that, getting to the other side using that ring, i had to wall run and jump away from the wall doing a star jump to land on the bugger, luckily after a few attempts i made it :D, was plain sailing after that.

Until going to the 2nd area of the Mayan clock where you could "only" jump the trap in the ground with the bike I realised "hey.....! BIKE!" and ran back all the way to get it :p
 
Anyone else unable to remap their mouse buttons? Doesn't seem to accept any mouse clicks as input when reconfiguring controls but can rebind keyboard keys fine.
