I started driving in June 07.

So in June 08 i had 1 years NC.

And in June 09 i will have 2 years NC.

But in Feb 09 i will have been driving only 1 year and 19 months hence having only 1 years NC's to my name.

Ahh thought you meant feb08 :(

Prove it, be the first n00b on OcUK to come in here, be all "im 4 years old and daddy's going to buy me an Enzo because he just one the lottery", and actually back your rubbish up.

You dont know anything about me mate. I dont have to/want to prove anything to idiots like you. Back my 'rubbish' up?

Grow up buddy. :o

Oh and what exactly makes me a N00b in your eyes, just out of interest?!

Didnt really understand your post. Care to explain? And are you calling me a dick? If so i would prefer it if you kept your personal attacks to yourself.

Because you posted "3.5L" when it is actually a 3.7L engine. Having lived with an SL350 for a few months (not my choice, but something good came of it :) ), I have no idea why you would be considering a SL350 over an SL500 when you are considering the £4K insurance as possibly acceptable.

Unless you plan to cruise sedately in small cities and large towns with your roof down, upgrade to an SL500. Better yet, look at an SL55. The SL350 is underpowered and piggish and a wee bit crap. If you want to drop £25k then I doubt the real extra costs should be of concern.

As far as targetting Fox, I'm not one to defend other posters points, but you are way off the mark, as is that other feller.

You've got to remember this fella is 22 years old, the concept of an underpowered SL doesn't exist yet.

To the more experienced driver who has driven a 500 or a 55AMG then they would agree the 350 maybe a little underpowered, however to someone driving something which probably has less than 1/3rd of the power it doesn't matter!

Obviously pick of the bunch is a 55, or 63 after 08. 500 is nice refined very smooth engine but not as raw and powerful or fun as the 55.

I've driven plenty of SL350s, and although the 500 and Certainly all flavours of AMG models are more powerful I find the 350 to be perfectly adequate as a day to day car, the older 245bhp engine is fine, however the newer 3.5V6 272bhp engine is much better- Didn't come out till 06 though I think.

When looking for an SL make sure it has plenty of toys, things like Parktronic, Comfort Ventilated Seats, Telephone Pre Wiring are good options to have and make the car more desirable, they come with wind deflectors as standard but a lot of people tend to nick these so make sure you get it.

Insurance wise, get your mother on the insurance and enjoy lower premiums.

Because lots of kids hit the internet and ask "I have £xxxxxx.xx to spend and would like an F430, H2 Hummer or Exige, please advise". They are then never heard from. Surely you can understand the skepticism?

Simply post some evidence of your intentions, any evidence at all, and im sure people will be more likely to post advice. Until then all they have is a poor written OP just like all the other children post.

I have been around these forums for some time and will be in future hopefully. So im not quite sure what you mean by 'then never heard from'. Im sure i will continue to post after this threat is long gone. Would you like me to email you every time i do so that you may continue to hear from me?

Post evidence of my intentions? My intentions are to get some advice on getting cheaper insurance for a car i may buy?

Care to explain what your on about?

And if you thinks its a poor written OP just like all the other children posts then why are you bothering to post in the thread?! And i do belive that my OP was perfectly readable and simple enough to understand.

Im 21 coming 22, not really a kid am i? Young yes, a child, eeerm not really. How old are you, 70? Are you an 'adult'?! :o

Pfft, 70, I wish I was that young!

The weathers crap over here, and truckers like to throw fags into convertibles driven by tossers...... ;)

I know lots of people walking into £30-40k jobs at 21. £25k car is achievable if that's what they want to do.

Buying a £25k car with considerably high running costs when earning £30-40k is going to be difficult, nigh on stupid, unless you live with your parents.

I agree, but it is possible. Also a lot of grads do live with their parents, half the ones I know do.

Even if you live with your parents, planning for one day not living with them surely comes first?

Now, i know 22 is young and 2 years no cliams is not a lot and a 3.5L Merc is big and powerful...

If you have already pointed out the obvious in your OP then why are you making such a thread? What do you expect us to say?

Any ideas? Advice?

Umm, let me think... get a cheaper car that suits your age and experience thus resulting in a lower insurance quote? *slaps forehead*

That depends on your priorities but anyone who still lives with their parents when approaching their mid 20's is a bit of a "special case" :p

I can't imagine still living with my parents. Even staying at home for a week does my head in now. I wouldn't move home again even if it meant I could afford a Veyron. I can understand that some people would rather have exotic metal instead but there's more to life than cars.

Yucca, just buy the damn thing. Insure it 3rd Party, limit the miles to 5000 and specify a lower value of £15k.

Car you want, cheaper insurance, pics and lolz for us.
