I found that about 2 weeks ago while browsing but didnt bother to post it.

But today i have found they have now released a trailer:D

Yay new CoH! Hopefully this will bring in some fresh blood to the game, so I'm not continually pounded into oblivion by 25lbers/Ranger spams.

Damn Allies!

i worry about the direction this game is going.. the original was so ground breaking and easily the best game of the year when it came out ... but OF was a mess, and this expansion has single player game modes turning it into an totally different game ... that and theyve been making this instead of patching the current game which is in dire need of an update

this is my worry as well

I would have been happy with some new units and some new scenarios

for blinkin flips sake they have a whole 6 years of world confilct to draw from

they could have done a north african campaign or a burma campaign or an eastern front campaign..theres plenty of choice! the game mechanics were fine, the resource management worked..why fart about with it to this extent

I like the resource management, i like building endless defences and hunkering down behind them! I like my real time STRATEGY..I dont fancy controlling 1 tank then actually pointing the gun and shooting

dumbing it down for dumbasses as far as I'm concerned

yeah? better include the russians, im sick of WWII games totally forgetting one of the biggest contributers to the war, i mean FFS the russians lost more people than britain, germany and america put together! plus they had some awesome tanks, aircraft and weapons, RELIC PUT THE RED ARMY IN COH:2 FFS!!!

That was a rather poor trailer... It didn't show anything new about this expansion... just showed loads of explosions which this game already had.

Agree on all your comments.

Singler player looks like it might be a bit of a let down, however I will reserve judgement - more details might be released a bit further down the road.

My main worry is the multiplayer. been playing the multiplayer since beta and even though I completed the main campaign with vanilla CoH, did not touch the campaign with OF and went straight online. This direct fire thing sounds like it could stuff it right up couldn't imagine playing a multiplayer game where someone somewhere could be carving through your troops on the map while you are off elsewhere? It just would not work...

This was my main worry however, I was on the gamereplays forums and found this

Quote:

From Thunder:

"Hey folks, I just wanted to clear up some of the initial questions about Tales of Valor.

1) No new factions are going to be introduced in Tales of Valor.
2) The new units are new models and textures. New.
3) Direct fire is something that we're featuring in the campaign, and perhaps one of the new multiplayer modes. It's not something you'll be using in a standard multiplayer game.

There ya go. I think that the expansion will have something for everyone, single-player fans and fans of multiplayer."

I sometimes go to these forums to browse - quite an active CoH community. I think the Thunder guy works for Relic - from the way he states the key facts it gives that impression anyway.

so looks like we will not have to worry about the core multiplayer experience.

I am disappointed about the amount of content in the pack for multiplayers - seems more geared to single player rts fans. However I will end up buying it and no doubt enjoying it. If anything adds to the experience of this game I will buy - esp if it is adding anything to the multiplayer.

Sounds lame.

Those changes are hawt. Loving the slowdown/cooldown on "fire-up" now. Bye bye ranger spam and yay Falls!

Yea that Fallschirmjager modifier will be nasty - the only saving grace is that they can only go camo if they are still - if not then Luft would be nasty.

That cool down - agreed for Rangers, however for the Airbourne I don't think it would be great - they are not good anti-infantry at the best of times. THe only reason I fire up those guys is to get round fixed enemy positions and lob satchel charge. I see one squad of Germans and I am off again as they are carp Anti Inf. Think they should apply it for Rangers but not Airbourne. I know that would not be entirely correct, but still - for the gameplay.

Anyway - I haven't seen a Ranger spam in ages - people still use them? I find them really easy to beat with combined arms. Ranger spam = XP harvest for the enemy. I only tend to have max, three squads of rangers grouped and then have supporting vehicles and other weapons - smoke even, is a good one.

I play against people all the time who keep throwing the same tactics and troops forward at me and then wonder why they keep losing. tis weird, but at the same time funny. :)
