Hi guys, I have the 32v4000 - an it has a native res of 720p, but has a 1080i input.

My question is this, is it better to have it set to a 1080i picture or leave it at 720p - mainly play ps3 and xbox360 and watch blu rays on it.

Sorry if it seems a stupid question by the way! :D

It's neither better or worse! The only thing is for you to try it and see what you prefer. If you can't see a difference, then it makes no difference!

it depends on so many things.... Sometimes it might sometimes it might not.

I like a progressively scanned picture, so i would usually always choose 720p.

Depends what the source was to begin with.

If its a blu ray with 1080p then the player has to interlace the picture to deliver it to the television, then the tv has to deinterlace the picture then rescale it to 720.

I would give the TV 720p, then the player will normally just rescale the picture to 720p. The least messing around with the picture the better.

100hz is a load of crap as well.

I would've thought that 720p would be better. If the source is 1080i, the TV would have to de-interlace it and then scale it down. If the source matches the TV then no processing should be done on it.

But better to try it and see what you're happiest with.

In general high speed motion is better sent via 720P, but slow motion is better at 1080i as the TV scaler has a higher resolution to start with.

More than likely the panel is not 720p native res, but is 1366x768, so the TV will have to do some scaling whether you give it 720p or 1080i.
