Ok, this is your opportunity to vote for the best 5 games ever.

The rules are quite simple and based on things learnt from the 2005 EDITION, and from suggestions and advice from the two rules suggestions threads (PC forum, Console forum).

You each get five votes, and votes will be counted in order of preference, and scored as below:-

1. 8 points
2. 7 points
3. 6 points
4. 5 points
5. 4 points

(calculated so that your 5th games carries half as much weight as your top game. 5 points to 1 point would obviously mean your top game would carry 5 times as much weight as your fith and I think this is too extreme)

I will ask for the threads to be closed on the 28th december and then I'll tally up the scores and create the top 20 list early in 2009. I'll aim for the 1st, but I'm a busy little sausage and I'm not making any promises on when it'll be done.

This system is not perfect, but there is no perfect system and so this is based on general concensus.

PLEASE only vote once, and only in one of the two threads.
This is an all encompassing list, vote for games from any era on any platform. If snake on your old nokia is your top game, stick it in.
The PC thread is NOT JUST FOR PC GAMES, and obviously the Consoles thread is NOT JUST FOR CONSOLE GAMES, vote in one thread and vote for whatever you like :)
If your top two games are both GTA games, vote for them both individually as they will be counted as seperate and individual. (i may create a seperate list for top 5 franchises if time permits)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE only use this thread for voting. Use the above threads for discussion of the list and I'll ask for them to be re-named as discussion threads.

EDIT: It's clearly not an easy task to choose, so if you change your mind, please edit your first post, and not re-post.

Cheers :)
