Knocked off bike (again)

Shep's just messing around guys... get a grip, it's not as if he's buying booze for five year olds and selling you ripped jeans is it?

Can't believe you spat on someone's car !

Well she called me a rude word "you stupid ******* ***T!"

and it was like 8am, i was freezing, nouty and tired... and to top it off she nearly knocked me off my bike. I was not at fault. She deserved my flem, because words couldnt describe my anger towards her.

Anyway, this thread isnt about me. So, to the op... just write to him or give him a call. Sort it out on a personal basis. But, one thing i have learnt.... never accept part payment. Its all or nothing mate.

Maybe he is though :p

Im a cyclist and im sick of people pulling out on me. Ive never been hit, but very nearly. Actually this morning some girl pulled out on me and then gave me abuse saying im crazy etc (swearing abuse). I just spat on her car (very mature and elegant) and she tried turning her car around but couldnt get it in reverse, she just kept crunching the gears (lol women).

But not all drivers are bad and sometimes it is a mistake when they pull out. But they have no consideration and never apologise.
You sound like the kind of cyclist that I'd aim for. Coupled with your profile saying you're an estate agent, you're doomed if you ever ride near me:p

Unlucky BodgerPoo, I see cyclists getting cut up nearly every morning about Blondon. Most people are... well.

I'd go through the insurance anyway, that'll teach them to look our for bikes more when they get the insurance renewal through with a claim against them.

As your not interested in money so to speak, i'd go to them, see if they want to settle in person, if they make it difficult or give you jip go for an insurance claim and make it difficult for them, its their fault for not looking for approaching traffic anyway.

Thanks, glad i made you smile :D

Well your comments cheered me up this afternoom :D

Miserable so and sos on a friday, it's the damn weekend, have a beer or at least crack us a smile.

Glad your ok OP, definately contact him first, but tbh he might just turn around and deny it. Witnesses ?

get a decent bike shop to properly check over your bike. any carbon fibre may be damaged, and you don't want to find out about this after you have accepted a claim.

lol I wish I had carbon fibre on my bike. It's all alloy so any cracks I would be able to see. I will give it a proper inspection on Saturday when I have some daylight to play with but impressions from looking in the garage are that everything is hunky dory. All straight and true and no hairline cracks on the head tube welds etc

There were witnesses but they had disappeared by the time i had recovered enough to get any details :(

Last time i witnessed a crash I made sure I hung around to give my details. Pff.

Gotta laugh at all the whiny whingers who couldn't take Sheps joke :D Wow, take some time off guys, you're senses of humour have dried up!

Before involving his insurance, tell him the cost. And be certain beyond doubt that you can prove him at fault.

lol. I know, its like everyone has gone "super serial" and fires a flame cannon if you say something they don't agree on.

Glad you are OK, and it's only minor damage!

I have to say, and don't take this personally, but I never trust car drivers at all when I'm on the Push bike, and flying down a hill at 30mph where there is a juntion at the bottom, would trigger alarm bells, and I'd slow down a little if I saw cars waiting to pull out, with the assumption they hadn't seen me.

It is wrong that they don't see you, but it's a fact of life these things happen, with the biggest loser always been the poor guy on the bike!.

I'd certainly think that you are entitled to claim for your damages, and I hope you keep us posted just so we know justice has been done.
