Holland to ban magic mushrooms

Non-dried mushrooms went from being legal in this country to being class A overnight a couple of years ago. I think the government needs to get its act together with regards to drug classifications.

Main reason for that is that people started openly selling fresh shrooms at sunday markets and other places, it was getting a bit silly...its always the greedy that spoil it for everyone else.

Sending Cannabis to Class B has to be the most ****ed up decision I've seen this government make (ok that's an overstatement, but it's up there in terms of logic and competent thinking applied). Talk about sending the completely wrong message that somehow, drugs like speed, ritalin and amphetamines are as safe as cannabis when they're so clearly not. Cannabis should have stayed at C where it's appropriately risk assessed, instead of amongst the horse tranquilizers and psychosis medications. The stubborn 'drugs and cannabis are BAD and we don't care what the experts say' stance has gone too far. Why hire the industry experts and leading professionals in the field if you're not going to listen to what they say? Why toy with people's ignorance and perceptions of drugs by putting a common drug such as cannabis in the same field as other class B drugs? It sends a wrong message that if a guy does cannabis, he might as well try the other drugs too since they're apparently only as dangerous as it.

Just a small rant.

i suppose you could say more fool the person who lives his/her life according to drugs classifications. it doesnt make a bit of difference to the people who are going to do it anyway from what ive seen.

as far as the thread topic goes, really couldnt care less lol. holland (and amsterdam) is a lovely place and it really makes no difference to me :)

C'mon guys! Chin up!

It's not all doom and gloom you know!! They haven't mentioned about banning the whores so whats the big deal? :D:D

Yeah it really spoils Amsterdam that you have a load of British druggies knocking around behaving in the usual British anti-social way. The areas of 'dam that aren't full of Brits are really nice.

I went with a few mates and we met two other British couples who were really nice. We never saw anyone being antisocial and this was in the summer and we went for 5 days and smoked weed none stop.

Never tried the mushrooms like and im now really kicking myself. Gutted there getting banned.

Now time to ban the other drugs.

Why? Man made like Heroin, Cocaine etc... should be, But drugs like green, mushys and other things should be Class C or legal. They arent harmful and in my opinion its all propaganda.

REMEMBER - its my opinion. They grow in the wild so shouldnt be banned. I bet Jesus had a spliff in his time.

To make it a family friendly destination. ;)

It is anyway... the only thing that ruins Amsterdam is... the dealers on the corner who notice young lads and ask them if they want the class A's etc. Apart from that, there is an excellent sight seeing experience and as long as you stay out of the Red Light District you dont see drugs in your face or whores.

Like anywhere i suppose.

Having only ever seen the downside of mushrooms (A couple of friends on really bad trips) I can only say that it's a good thing.

English rooms are better anyway, everybody knows that :D

Don't forget though Kids, Drugs are bad, Ok (Insert serious face smiley here)

Why would you go to Amsterdam and not go into the red light district?  .

Even if you went with a girlfriend or something, surely you'd still go in the sex shops and have a look around?
