Meh, Frankie Boyle doesn't really do that to me. I really think it's a Scottish sense of humour thing. He's really funny. Not because he's shocking, but because he's funny. I like his surrealism - a lot of his jokes go off at strange tangents, usually involving an animal of somekind. And often the punchline t his jokes is at the START of the joke....
 
Dont buy the "new" Peter Kay dvd, christ this guy has been churning out crap for years.

The new dvd even features the John Smith adverts, wtf paying to watch them
 
Never been a fan of Peter Kay's standup, although I love stuff like Max and Paddy etc

Will have to check out Dara's DVD sounds excellent :)
 
McIntyre was brilliant, Rich Hall was quite good, but the Welsh fellow wasn't great. They should have come on in reverse order.
Looking forward to the Sean Lock episode most.
 
It was great to see Rhod Gilbert on it. Just a a pity that having listened to quite a bit of him on Radio 4 lately, I'd heard it all before.

All that Mock The Week is, is a chance for the stand ups on the show to showcase different parts of their act,
They dont sit there and come up with stuff of the top of their head to the questions they are given.
The live at the Apollo show is just edited highlights of of an hour long set that each stand up does, it is just another tour date for them.

Ergo, if you watch:

2 series of Mock The week.
Live at the Appollo
Frankie boyle live.

All in the same year, you wont see anything you have not seen before by the time you get to the live DVD, as these shows are toured for over a year some times.
 
That posh guy was ace, but that welsh guy was mad. He must be an alien with that accent and a voice which can go on and on and on at such a volume. very funny too :D
 
Michael McIntyre and rich hall were great, the welsh guy annoyed me, he seemed to be constantly shouting which made him not funny.
 
I would have to agree, Michael McIntyre is brilliant. A couple of the lads were talking about him last weekend down the pub, and from that chat, I made it my mission to watch it last night. Brilliant stuff!
 
I really don't get Rich Hall, he wasn't funny on this and he's never funny on panel shows. Am i missing something?
