My brother is getting a pc for xmas, we narrowed it down to the above 2 pcs.
He uses his pc for gaming so would like to play all the games he can for as long as possible. PC 2 has a monitor but he already owns a monitor so it doesnt really matter, all we care about is the base units specs.

bottom, but to be honest it won't play many games. for £600 you can EASILY build a much better system for games.

an example spec would be:
cheapest intel dual core
4gb ram
ati 4850 graphics card
320gb samsung drive

First one's ok as a family pc, second one is to be honest, not much better, other than having the dedicated graphics card. Also they both only have 667mhz RAM, bit of cost-cutting/profit boosting going on there.

edit:
actually, completely scrap that, that AMD system is an awesome price for what it is.

Remember the OS is an optional extra for any system bought from OCUK, so stick £60 on if you want XP with it.

I agree but the system i have suggested will be better for gaming than the intel equivalent in the price range. The Intel one under the budget comes with a 9600GT as opposed to the above's 4850.
