I'll see how much Karl wants for his Pulsar turbo when he strips it.

I've got money in a savings account that I can dip into if needs be. I've never actually been in a Pulsar turbo'd Rover, despite reading so much about them. I'll have to pester Karl into taking me out in his

Daz, is that the GT28R or the T28R on the S15? The G, what does that denote? I thought the R specified a roller bearing turbo. Are the G models the 360º thrust(?) bearing?

Sneaky, fancy giving it to me for Christmas? /flutters eyelashes :D

Pulsar turbo has a little more lag than I would like but then i dont have a decent elbow/downpipe.

When it comes on boost you know though, plenty of power, excellent in third gear.

Will be about £250 Andy that ill ask for on RT, has the GBE adaptors i bought new from Grant, the oil feed adaptor, and then the oil feed, the oil drain etc. Anyway, closer to the time you can have a look and the car is MOT'd until Feb so ill have it around till then anyway! No point MOTing it if im going to change in March anyway. Only use it on weekends occasionally.

Not sure if this will do what you want (and at £300+ it's too expensive) but everyone else seemed to be posting pictures of boost controllers...

GT28R is on the S15 the R does denote Roller bearing turbo i dont know what the G stands for though.

It's basically a GT28RS like you can get from ATP etc. It's still a similar spec to the normal 200sx one in terms of turbine and compressor.

GT turbos are the NGT series, New Garrett Turbos.

GT28R is a single roller bearing and aerodynamically better blades over the t28r to make things more efficient. Definately get a bigger turbo, that will help regulate boost rather than a silly gadget IMO.

Theres a group buy on AVC-R on scoobynet if thats any help. I've made a semi-firm agreement to buy an Impreza when we go to see the inlaws for xmas and planning mods already.

Edd, do you know where they're sourcing the AVC-Rs from? Wherever I've looked has been sold out. I know there are a few on eBay. It'd be interesting to know how many of them there are left.

Oh, you guys suggesting to go with the new turbo are ********. By the time a turbo comes available, I will have owned the car for two years. I've been seriously thinking that it's time to stop ******* about with the little mods and start doing stuff properly!

Get a turbo and stop ******* about with novelty widgets then

WTF

Yeah ironically thats exactly what not buying AVC-R's would be, at less cost. Its about the last thing you do to a Rover Turbo. Forging them is pointless, too much cash and they fall apart anyway cos everything on the engine would apsire to be an arm in a wizards sleeve than sit with the tolerances the engines are built to.

WTF back at you

That post was meant to be taken in jest. It was merely meant to mean "you guys are right, spending money on a boost controller is a bit pointless when I could get a nice turbo for the same money. I've had the car for two years and done very little to it in terms of true performance mods. Maybe now is the time to spend a bit of money where it counts"
