Never thought I would see a benchmark for a 2008 game fail an E8500.

Guess I should have gone quad core after all, but the general advice on here and elsewhere is that a decent C2D would be more than adequate for gaming in the next year or two.

Oh well, rats, guess my "underpowered" Wolfdale will have to do as the upgrade budget has been spent until mid-2009.

which is good news for me

i was wondering not long ago if i should have picked the quad, now it seems i was right lol, the only thing that will need changing on my system in the next few months is my x1950

If anyone gets it tomorrow by early arrival or whatever and lies about his location ( so he can activate as if he's a US person) can anyone just give info how well it runs etcetc but don't spoil things pls, thx

You cant activate it until its official launch day anyway
They may have it, but they cant play it

I've got to wait until Christmas for this, because I can't get it myself because I'm 17, and I haven't got any cash anyway lol.

Do shops seriously check for age there in the UK? I look like I'm 14/15 but I'm buying 18+ games no problem.
And when buying online, even if you give up your birth date when making an account they don't even look @ it, you can order any game or film, even hardcore porno...

Ask cash for Saint Nicolas or Xmas

I've currently got £35, I need to get my gf's xmas present with that, and I was going to get my provisional with my xmas money.

My parents don't like GTA, it's "immoral" lol, so they won't buy it me. And they seem to be strict over hear on ages limits of games, I got questioned about buying a 15 the other week (BIA:HH) and then on the same day I got invited to a private night club by some guy on the street lol.

He can't it's not on any known site, the piratebay or torrentz has nothing...
Nothing in nforce also so there is no scene release yet thus there is no crack yet.

EDIT: oh I failed, there is a real copy there, but it's useless because of not being cracked yet ( the cd check then)...

I hope this turns out pap. I'll kick myself for cancelling my pre-order otherwise!

I did play it and quickly tire of it on the PS3, as there's so little to do outside the storyline.

I've pre-ordered Saints Row 2 in place of GTA IV, and from what I've seen, it looks a lot more fun.

I will order SR2 too when I get my xmas money but since GTA comes now I have to play that too, I just HAVE to. It can't be worse than GTA III I guess and I enjoyed that one a lot too so I doubt I'll be disappointed.

I wouldn't say it's worse than GTA III, just not a patch on VC or SA, not even slightly. The story was very good in GTA IV, but there was sod all left to keep me entertained when I finished it.

There's nothing novel, and nothing much that's new or interesting over the old games.

What about the MP? Someone before mentioned 32 player races in gta? I love racing in GTA

Also I heard about some steal the car mode, deathmatch mode, and other mp modes, are they all really rubbish ? :eek:

According to eurogamer it struggles on an 8800GTS 640 with a core 2....slightly worrying

I found the MP modes severely lacking. Not much to do, and nothing to keep me playing. I can't quite put my finger on exactly why I didn't get on with it though. It just really didn't work.

I used to play a lot of MTA:SA, and the racing in that was so much fun, and completely madcap. You won't enjoy the racing in IV if you played MTA:SA, not until a track editor is made anyway.

The vehicle controls made the more 'realistic' handling even worse than it should've been on the PS3 version at least. The handling was part of the fun inVC and SA - you could gun it everywhere like a maniac, perform the most ridiculous maneuvers, and still come out the other end without a scratch on the car. GTA IV was just a bit too grown up for that kind of fun IMO.
