Can you play PS1 games on the PS2?
I have an idea for a prezzie for a friend of mine, but she only has a PS2 and I can't for the life of me recall if they are backwards compatible!

it's so long ago I've forgotten, I believe the entire back catalogue of Ps1 games will play on ps2, though I'd wait for confirmation

Yes. But IIRC you need a PS1 memory card to save games.

They were backwards compatible, although a very few games wouldn't work. I also recall some problem with saving some games so it might be worth checking.
